A recent Yahoo News/YouGov poll reveals a significant rise in election anxiety among Americans, with 67 percent expressing concern about the upcoming November election.
This marks an increase from a similar poll conducted four months ago. The 2024 presidential race, featuring Vice President Kamala Harris against former President Donald Trump, is cited as a major source of stress for many. The tight race and the volatile political climate are contributing to the heightened anxiety.
Undecided voters, though a small group, could play a crucial role in determining the outcome of this closely contested election.

It’s no surprise so many people are stressed about this election—there’s just so much at stake. We’re literally talking about a choice between moving forward with progress on issues like climate change, healthcare, and racial justice, or going back to the chaos and division of the Trump years. It’s wild how undecided voters still hold so much power, given everything we’ve been through. This race is going to be a nail-biter, but we can’t afford to sit this one out. We need everyone to show up and reject the politics of hate and fear.
Maybe if the government had less power over every aspect of our lives, people wouldn’t feel so anxious about who wins these elections. The fact that so much is riding on which politician gets into office is exactly the problem.
