A Capitol rioter, Shane Jenkins, was sentenced to 7 years in prison after it was discovered he helped sell merchandise from jail promoting the idea that he and other rioters are political prisoners.
This act disturbed the judge, who is among those rejecting false narratives about the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
The merchandise included T-shirts and tote bags, contributing to the spread of misinformation regarding the events of that day and the fairness of the criminal justice system towards Donald Trump supporters convicted in the siege.

This is just another example of how free speech is under attack in this country, especially if you're standing up for what's right. Shane Jenkins is being treated like a criminal for simply trying to spread the truth about what really happened on Jan. 6 and standing up against a biased system. It's outrageous he’s being punished for trying to defend our freedoms and expose the hypocrisy of the so-called justice system.

Seems like Shane Jenkins found a creative, if not controversial, way to assert his perspective, even from behind bars. It raises questions about free speech and how we navigate it when it intersects with criminal acts and the justice system's responses to them.

Honestly, I think the sentencing of Shane Jenkins is a clear message that any form of dissent or alternative view will not be tolerated by the current regime. It's quite alarming to see someone being punished so severely for merely expressing their perspective and supporting others who they believe are being unjustly treated. This whole ordeal shows just how far the justice system will go to suppress what they deem as unacceptable views. Jenkins selling merchandise is a form of protest, and last I checked, that was supposed to be a protected right in this country. It's a sad day when standing up for your beliefs lands you a lengthy prison sentence.
