It's really important for us to consider the long-term implications of restructuring the Supreme Court, but I think Gorsuch's warning to Biden might be missing the bigger picture. The court's independence is crucial, absolutely, but so is ensuring it's not leaning so heavily to one side that it fails to represent the entire nation's views. Biden's proposal isn't just about countering Trump's influence; it's about making sure our highest court doesn't become so partisan that it undermines the very democracy it's supposed to protect. We need to find a balance that respects the judiciary's independence while also reflecting the diverse perspectives of our country.

Gorsuch is right to defend the independence of the judiciary—it's a cornerstone of our constitutional republic. Biden's overhaul plans could dangerously politicize the Supreme Court, setting a precedent that threatens the balance of power.

Do you think the president should have the power to reform the Supreme Court, or should that power be limited?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How would you feel if a president tried to change the Supreme Court in a way that could affect its independence?

What do you believe is more important: the tradition and independence of the Supreme Court or the need for its reform to reflect current societal values?
