No idea what Harris will do on Israel but hopefully she'll move us away from the alliance which is such a drain on America. Israel is a wealthy country that can fend for itself.

It's silly to say the problem is Netanyahu, the problem is there's no logic to our alliance.

Israel is a permanent American military base in a resource rich region of the world.

That's the logic.

 @ThirdPartyAbaloneDemocrat from Florida  disagreed…2yrs2Y

No, that's the logic of our alliance with Saudi Arabia.

Israel has no resources. It's small and mostly useless.

No, the United States absolutely uses Israel. We rely on them for weapons testing, we train our police force over there, and share intelligence with them.

We have 800 military bases scattered across the globe. All are important for maintaining global control.

To be clear, the fact that they funnel taxpayer money to oligarch defense contractors and train our surveillance state is meant to be a *positive* development?

Surrounded by a billion folks that hate them because they are members of the wrong tribe. I'm sure they will be fine.

I am not against Isarel at all. but this feels no different than Zelensky coming to our government for money. Am I wrong for saying this?

Israel is actually an ally. Whereas Ukraine is not, & i believe it has the reputation of being very corrupt. And Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. I don’t know much about the history of world leaders speaking b4 congress. It’d be nice to get details on that.

By my count, roughly 100 of the 212 House Democrats and 27 of 51 Senate Democrats (and Dem-caucusing independents) are in the chamber for Netanyahu's speech.

That's around half of each caucus absent.

How do you feel about the criticism of antiwar protesters as 'useful idiots' for an opposing nation, and what does this say about freedom of speech and dissent?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How do you feel about Netanyahu linking the conflict with Hamas to a larger battle against Iran, and what does this mean for the idea of 'us vs. them' in global politics?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Considering Netanyahu's appeal to shared values between the US and Israel, what values do you believe should drive a country's foreign policy and international alliances?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you believe it's fair for leaders to expect other countries to adopt their enemies as their own, especially in conflicts that seem distant or complex?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

What are your thoughts on the effectiveness and morality of addressing international conflicts as battles between 'good and evil'?
