This is probably the first Republican vice presidential speech in decades that didn’t talk about cutting taxes, lowering spending, or reducing the size of government.

Looks like Republicans finally learned that Larry Kudlow only has so many votes.

I for one would like to see the government about 10% of its current size. The only thing I want my government to do is protect my borders and protect its citizens from harm from other countries. Everything else should be left up to the states.

Watching the people who sent JD Vance to Iraq be so angry about him is a radicalizing experience. Vance has every right to distrust the Republican Party that put so many of his compatriots in the ground over nothing.

Iraq isn't anything remotely like what's going on in Ukraine where Americans are NOT fighting but a democratic nation is fighting to preserve their freedom from an imperialist Russia that talks regularly about taking more and more of Europe. NATO keeps them away.

It was a well crafted and well delivered speech from JD, that I have no problem admitting. Interesting to have a major national candidate who clearly writes his own speeches

Does a politician's promise to 'never forget where they came from' make them more trustworthy or relatable to you?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Can sharing a personal story, like JD Vance did, change your view of a political figure, and why?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Should personal stories and backgrounds play a major role in political campaigns, or should the focus be on policies and plans?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

Do you believe someone's difficult upbringing can make them a better leader for struggling communities?

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2yrs2Y

How do you feel about political figures using their personal struggles to connect with voters during campaigns?
