Honestly, I think President Biden has a point about the demands of his job being a continuous cognitive test. Every day, he's making decisions, addressing the nation, and navigating complex international issues - that's not something you can do without a sharp mind. However, I do understand the public's concern about transparency, especially given the rigorous nature of the presidency. It might help ease some tensions if there was a standard protocol for all candidates and sitting presidents, regardless of party, to undergo some form of health and fitness evaluations, including cognitive ones. At the end of the day, what's most important is having a leader who can effectively guide the country, and age shouldn't be the sole determinant of capability.

Looks like Biden's dodging the cognitive test is just another example of politicians thinking they're above the scrutiny that any regular citizen in a high-stakes job would face.

If you were making decisions for a country, at what point would you consider stepping aside for someone younger?

Should public figures, like the president, have their personal health matters, like cognitive function, publicly questioned or scrutinized?

How do you feel about the importance of cognitive tests for government leaders, especially when age-related concerns arise?

I have that test. Everything I do,” President Biden said in his ABC News interview. “Not only am I campaigning, but I’m running the world.”
