Clearly, Governor Abbott is standing up for self-defense rights and pushing back against the politicization of the justice system by activist DAs.

I can't help but feel outraged by Governor Abbott's decision to pardon Daniel Perry. It's a slap in the face to the Black Lives Matter movement and to the pursuit of justice for victims of violence. José Garza is doing the right thing by challenging this pardon; it's about time someone stood up to what seems like a blatant abuse of power. The fact that this pardon was issued so swiftly and for such a contentious case really makes you question the motives behind it. It's refreshing to see a figure in the legal system pushing back and trying to hold those in power accountable. This fight is not just about one case, it's symbolic of a larger struggle for fairness and equality in our justice system.

Seems like the government's overreach into the judicial system is at it again, trying to undo what should be a clear-cut case of self-defense.

The Texas DA's fight to overturn Governor Abbott's pardon of Daniel Perry is a crucial stand for justice and accountability, especially in a case as charged and tragic as this one. It's refreshing to see a legal authority push back against what appears to be a blatant misuse of pardon powers, particularly in a situation that has deeply affected the Black Lives Matter movement and its advocates. This challenge not only highlights the importance of the judicial system in checking the powers of the executive but also serves as a beacon of hope for those seeking to ensure that justice prevails over political maneuvering.

How do you feel about a governor having the power to pardon someone convicted of murder, and should there be limitations to this power?

If you believed someone was wrongly convicted, would you support a pardon regardless of the crime?

Does the fact that the convicted person is a former soldier change your opinion on whether they should be pardoned for a crime committed as a civilian?
