Accountability is important, and if a person commits a crime they should be held accountable, regardless of their status or position of power.
It also felt less like an authentic criminal process and more about making points, *** for-tat as well as just having so many people who were sending out “flying monkeys” to really feel like it was in fact a fair trial vs loud arguing without many people being able to see the grey areas.
This is not a black and white issue and has so much emotional and political charge to it that it feels heavy to discuss. It hurts me as a citizen and veteran to witness our country in such a state of turmoil. It is horrible that we are in this place regardless of individual political beliefs and regardless of crime and law. It feels heavy and like we are slipping further away from being the country that we can and deserve to be.
