Can a name change on a building contribute to healing historical wounds, or is it merely symbolic?

No, because it's just a name who cares if the name of something offends you, plus history is in the past why bring it up.

This just goes to show how important it is for local communities to retain the freedom to honor their history and make decisions without outside interference.
