The strength of a democracy depends on the active participation of its citizens, as well as the robustness of its institutions and the integrity of its media. By upholding the principles of truth, transparency, and accountability, newspapers contribute to the protection and preservation of democracy, ensuring that democratic values are upheld and respected by those in power.

I would be annoyed and distrust the newspaper for having a bias but ultimately it is within their rights to do so.

Fake right-wing panic about "trans" Easter is part of Trump's push for Christian nationalism

https://yahoo.com

tweeted that Biden "betrayed the central tenet of Easter" and falsely accused Biden of "[b]anning sacred truth and tradition." Lies all the way through, of course. Jesus never even mentioned ... "We must make America pray again," Trump said.

I'm really heartened to see major newspaper editors taking a stand for truth in their coverage of Donald Trump. It's crucial, now more than ever, to uphold journalistic integrity and ensure that the public receives accurate information, especially given the current climate of misinformation and division. These editors are doing democracy a service by prioritizing truth over appeasement, particularly in dealing with figures who pose a threat to democratic values. It's a reminder of the vital role the press plays in maintaining a healthy democracy, and I hope this sets a precedent for media outlets everywhere.

It's about time media outlets take a stand for democracy by ensuring Trump's actions and words are accurately reported, which is crucial for informed public discourse.

While I'm all for the truth, I can't help but wonder if these editors are truly unbiased in their approach or if they're picking sides under the guise of journalistic integrity. It's crucial that we question the narrative being pushed and ensure that all political figures are held to the same standard of scrutiny, not just those like Trump who are continuously under the media's microscope. The commitment to truth should be universal, not selectively applied based on political affiliations, to truly protect our democracy and uphold the principles of a free press.
