Proponents argue that this strategy would bolster national security by minimizing the risk of potential terrorists entering the country. Enhanced screening processes, once implemented, would provide a more thorough assessment of applicants, reducing the likelihood of malicious actors gaining entry. Critics argue that such a policy might inadvertently promote discrimination by broadly categorizing individuals based on their nation of origin rather than specific, credible threat intelligence. It may strain diplomatic relations with the affected countries and potentially harm the perception of the nation enacting the ban, being seen as hostile or prejudiced towards certain international communities. Additionally, genuine refugees fleeing terrorism or persecution in their home countries might be unjustly denied safe haven.

Yes, except for harmless refugees from persecution, and deport immigrants who incite hate or terrorism
@Paculino11mos11MO
I'm afraid of the effects of deportation. They will likely have less legal opposition to encouraging violence if going to somewhere with low stability, which will likely make the problem worse. It may be a more distant problem then, but it is a problem that is bigger and more difficult to control.
@TheHillbillyLordRepublican 3mos3MO
Yes, we cannot risk letting terrorists into our country, even if one terrorist gets in, it's all over
@9ZWPK8BRepublican 6mos6MO
No. Those who seek asylum can’t wait. House those people in unused land or in old ghost towns and provide opportunities for work, education, housing, and safety until the refugees can be properly screened. Use this as an opportunity to create more jobs for the American people, more opportunities for safety for disenfranchised and oppressed people, and more love for the USA
@9YKFCPSRepublican6mos6MO
Until the US can put in place to effectively background check the people from these high risk countries, I believe the US should lower the amount of people coming in, but definitely not completely ban them
@9WP593CRepublican7mos7MO
This is a slippery slope. It sounds like a great idea but who makes the decision which country qualifies as high risk?
@9WF2B6NRepublican7mos7MO
They can find a way in no matter what they could fly from a different country than the one that there banned from
@9W86G5Y7mos7MO
there should be a specific screening process to determine if such are eligible, just like any other country
@9VS58BCRepublican7mos7MO
They should be allowed into a certain area until background checks and things of this nature have been checked to make sure that they are not terrorists or unsafe.
@9VQG5GDRepublican7mos7MO
I would say that immigrants from high risk countries should be allowed to come into the country, but only after extensive background checks and research.
@9VFBD7ZRepublican7mos7MO
We should still allow some of the refugees to enter this country meanwhile the government should improve the screen tests.
@9V4VJ26Republican8mos8MO
i think they should be allowed to enter but put more federal money towards improving the screening process
@9V4B7GZRepublican8mos8MO
No, these people should be kept safe in a shelter until the government improves its ability to conduct better screenings, and then begin to allow people in.
@9T9TCKP8mos8MO
if you enter legally you are welcome but any illegals should be sent back to there own country indefinitely
@9SHNP8K 9mos9MO
They shouldn't be banned just because they come from a "high risk country" if they are applying for citizenship.
@9S4N7FYRepublican9mos9MO
Yes, except for peaceful refugees from persecution, and deport immigrants who incite hate and violence
@9RL68FTRepublican10mos10MO
we should not let any immigrants into the country to keep us safe and away from terrorists. and if they do get in we will gun them down with our coastgaurd military
@9QQWNWMRepublican10mos10MO
All Illegal Immigrants should be deported and go through the proper channels/processes to seek legal immigration.
@9NF9B4MRepublican12mos12MO
No, but immigrants from countries deemed "high risk" by the US government should undergo a more thorough examination process. "High risk" countries should be determined by true national security risk, rather than as a proxy for religion.
@9LSCYMTRepublican1yr1Y
No, everyone is different and should be treated with the same courtesy in the process as someone from any other nation.
@9LJCJP6Republican1yr1Y
Yes, and deport immigrants who promote hatred for Jews, Israel, and the US and promote terrorism, and denationalize those who came under false pretenses
@9LGC733Republican1yr1Y
As long as they have extensive background checks to see their past and their history if clear come on in
@9LBW8C9Republican1yr1Y
no but when we find immigrents insted of just sending them back to where they came from we should give them the option to and from that we can do like a background check on them but also giving them a chance
@9L74N5JRepublican1yr1Y
I don't think that immigrants should be allowed into a country unless they have the legal paper work and want to become citizens for the right reasons.
@9L5YHW4Republican1yr1Y
Yes, but programs should be put in place in order for them to have a path to permanent residency/citizenship.
@9L277WQRepublican1yr1Y
No, but make the immigration process for people from high risk countries much more thorough to eliminate risk of terrorism
@9KYZTX51yr1Y
No, but immigrants from high risk countries should be highly screened for any type of terrorism or ideological threat.
@9GWG64WRepublican2yrs2Y
No, but there should be more intense security with high risk countries. No one should be discriminated just because of where they are from.
@9XYKBQTRepublican6mos6MO
I do Think the government should see their background and etc. if they cannot access that we immigrants would have to wait a bit longer before and the nation.
@9S9MKGKRepublican9mos9MO
They should go through the same process as another immigrant trying to gain citizenship with more precautions.
@9QXDSD4Republican10mos10MO
Yes, but only if there is no way to effectively screen them to make sure they do not pose a threat to the nation.
@93CK7FFRepublican 11mos11MO
Yes but in certain rare cases are exceptions such as political refugees. And I only mean a small handful not everybody and their brother
@9LZQ7MQRepublican1yr1Y
Yes, unless they can prove that their life or livelihood is in immediate danger in their current country
@9KW6NK5Republican1yr1Y
No they shouldn’t be banned because refugees might be seeking safety but they should be careful about who they let in to the country if it is a high risk.
@9KV8WF8Republican1yr1Y
No, but the government should improve its screening process as well as limit the amount of immigrants granted citizenship per year.
@Drew-DoehringRepublican 1yr1Y
Yes, the United States should continue to work with the UN to setup and maintain refugee camps (in a nearby region) for those seeking asylum and safe harbor from their home countries. Immigration admittance to the US should be based on merit and lottery alone.
@Freedom11Republican 1yr1Y
We need to be better at accepting immigrants seeking asylum if human rights are at high risk from their government but be more strict on immigrants "looking for a better life"
@6333BQCIndependent 1yr1Y
No, as long as they pass our screening then they should be let in. We should make sure our screening process makes up for any deficiencies in other country's screening processes
I think we just need to be better at regulating the flow of immigrants because these high-rik countries who hate our country do send their spies into our country and we do nothing about it
@9JLR696Republican1yr1Y
Try a background check or something because its not fair for no one to be allowed in if only a few shouldn't
@9JFKZZXRepublican1yr1Y
They should do a thorough check on the people trying to enter from high-risk countries so nothing bad will happen if they could cause harm to others.
@9JCDLMKRepublican1yr1Y
Immigrants from high-risk countries should go through thorough background checks before entering the US
@9HK4T7X 1yr1Y
That specific person should be monitored very closely and have a lot of background checks placed on them.
@9HK5KZHRepublican1yr1Y
I believe that America should still provide refuge to countries in need but still making sure that they don't place their own citizens at risk of terrorist attacks, so yes they should improve their screening that they use to "detect" terrorists.
@7HJNSX6Republican 1yr1Y
No, but run extensive background checks on these individuals and their families to ensure they have no ties to terrorism.
@9GRT437Republican2yrs2Y
Not banned, but we should just be extremely cautious and continue to work and improve the screening process to be more thorough and quick.
@9GKX4WGRepublican2yrs2Y
Yes, but if they are in immediate danger they should be allowed. But not given citizenship until it can be proven that they are not a terrorists.
@9G7BK6P2yrs2Y
Yes, circumstantial- Immigrants who enter the country legally & the ability to be productive members of society. Provided with follow ups, to demonstrate Jobs, Education, Residence...
@9G6HBHQRepublican2yrs2Y
I feel like there should be extensive background checks in place with the other nation's cooperation before letting the immigrant in from a high risk country.
@9G69CV92yrs2Y
If they come into the country legally then it is fine, but the immigrant must come through the legal screening process.
@9G64ND52yrs2Y
No, but there should be a mandatory waiting period in order for the government to do a background check on them.
@9G64492Republican2yrs2Y
I believe that they should be careful with people but I think everybody should be welcomed here and not criticized for being from a high risk country.
@9SMR4SBRepublican9mos9MO
This issue requires us to use the gift of discernment that God has given all of us; if we can prove individuals are refugees, not potential terrorists, they should be allowed entry on a temporary basis.
@9SMH7ZM9mos9MO
No, but they should be required some sort of testing proving they don’t have any terrorist intentions or proving they are seeking refuge.
@9SC3Q4LRepublican9mos9MO
No, but there should be a valid screening. People may be trying to escape their country for a better life.
@9GSX8KRRepublican2yrs2Y
depends if the government is just stopping because they look like a terrorist or come from a country with terrorists thats kind of not fair because they're being treated like criminals for trying to get away FROM the terrorists
@9GH58432yrs2Y
i think if they come from a country with terrorist they should be highly monitored, watched closely, searched.
@9G7CH22Republican2yrs2Y
there are really no effective screening techniques the most i feel that can be done is to tag the most likely suspects and monitor them.
@9K4P7N9Republican1yr1Y
No, anyone has the potential to be a terrorist. Excellent vetting and testing should be in place for all immigrants regardless of where they are from.
@9G8N2H3Republican2yrs2Y
I believe foreign immigrants should be allowed into our country, but if they are any type of danger than no.
@jsimicConstitution2yrs2Y
We need to verify that the applicant isn't lying and ready to commit terrorism once they enter the country.
We need to discriminate between the lying terrorists and the genuine applicants.
Also, we need to lower immigration to assimilate the immigrants already here, as well as secure the border from the invasion of illegals sent by the cartels.
@9WHZ8727mos7MO
Immigrants from these countries should have background checks on the area's they are from before allowing them to enter into the United States.
@9JQHB8TRepublican1yr1Y
No. We already have some of the most stringent requirements for immigration. Blanket bans are not necessary.
