Yes, but also make Emancipation Day a national holiday and designate one month to celebrate all cultures and ethnicities.

No, this holds only the United States and not other nations accountable for slavery.

 @8XLD3DHConstitution from Colorado  answered…4yrs4Y

No the first shot was fired by a black. Then they get massacred and want a holiday

 @82BNLG9Constitution from Nevada  answered…4yrs4Y

No, and end heritage months. Celebration should be out of genuine appreciation, not federal disingenuity

 @8X6SFXDRepublican from Nevada  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, end heritage months and designate one month to celebrate all cultures and ethnicities instead

 @8WYGRX6Constitution from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

No, end heritage months in general. They are stupid and let those cultures and ethnicities think that they are better than everyone else.

 @8WXSZ9FRepublican from New Jersey  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and we should focus on the importance of America being the first to end slavery not as a political tool for reparations.

 @8WVCDSXRepublican from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8W69G37Republican from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but hold a national referendum for black people to decide if Emancipation Day should be a national holiday instead

 @8W3XQ5SRepublican from Tennessee  answered…4yrs4Y

No we should all be treated equal. Singling out any group creates the idea that we are not

 @8VB7YCRConstitution from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, as long as all other races of slave trade hisory are declared federal holidays.

 @8TNRHRNRepublican from Delaware  answered…4yrs4Y

It should be declared as a "National Emancipation Day", not "National Independence Day", but otherwise I'm fine with it.

 @8TKDQBDRepublican from Indiana  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, it should. But currently what it represents is being taken the wrong way.

 @ChivalKnightConstitution from Oregon  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TDPNJHRepublican from Kentucky  answered…4yrs4Y

No, it is a racist holiday to celebrate black businesses and only cares about African Americans and not whites.

 @8TD3GNPRepublican from Michigan  answered…4yrs4Y

No, There's enough Federal Holidays as is, instead it should just be a traditional holiday.

 @93C2QR3Republican from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

No, it should be December 6th 1865 when the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified abolishing slavery in the U.S.

 @92ZMLQWConstitution from Pennsylvania  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZVT328Constitution from New York  answered…3yrs3Y

no use emancipation day instead, and end heritage months and designate one month to celebrate all cultures and ethnicities instead

 @8ZTHCHSConstitution from Michigan  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but we should still end heritage months because they make people think their race and sex matter more then the content of their character. Juneteenth does this to celebrate the official end of slavery but doesn't make it about race.

 @8ZHXF3BRepublican from Alabama  answered…3yrs3Y

It should not be a federal holiday but it should be a recognized holiday

 @8TKBYB3Republican from Virginia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TF8HXXRepublican from Connecticut  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but it should focus on the freeing of slavers and not Black Lives Matter or modern day issues

 @926DQ86Republican from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes and No, add Emancipation Day and Provide reparations to Black Americans

 @8SGXQ5CConstitution from Colorado  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PWSCLTRepublican from Tennessee  answered…4yrs4Y

 @77JF5QJConstitution from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, and all of these un-American heritage months should be gotten rid of, as well as MLK day.

 @6HQ4HQ5Republican from Florida  answered…4yrs4Y

If it is, fine. If not, fine. As long as we actually use the day to teach about our history.
