In April 2021 the legislature of the U.S. State of Arkansas introduced a bill that prohibited doctors from providing gender-transition treatments to people under 18 years old. The bill would make it a felony for doctors to administer puberty blockers, hormones and gender-reaffirming surgery to anyone under the age of 18. Opponents of the bill argue that it is an assault on transgender rights and that transition treatments are a private matter that should be decided between parents, their children and doctors. Supporters of the bill argue that children are too young to make the decision to receive gender transition treatment and only adults over the age of 18 should be allowed to do so.

Substantial cosmetic surgeries should not be performed on children and this includes cosmetic surgeries to enhance same-gender treatments. Breast enhancements should not be performed on any minor female. No medically unnecessary surgery should be performed on a child. Non-religious circumcisions should not be allowed, either. Gender corrections for ambiguous genitalia should not be allowed.

They don't this is a false question, should people under 18 receive puberty blockers if they so choice? Yes of course, they have little to now side effects and are completely reversable. No one is receiving sex reassignment surgery under 18.
@9Y5C2DC7mos7MO
Yes, but only if approved by a doctor following strict and specific diagnostic guidelines that deem them to be the best form of treatment for the patient.
@9XJCYGL7mos7MO
Yes, but a nuetral third party should make the final decision and a psychologist should make the final decision to ensure the decision is a safe one for the individual.

Anything that requires a physical surgery should not be allowed. As there are still things like taking testosterone or HRT shots which slowly change your body over time, they dont require a physical surgery to do.

I believe gender transitional care should be available to trans children, but I want there to be more than just parental approval. There should be tests done by trained professionals to ensure that transitioning would be the best thing for the child before beginning treatment.

idek. Mental things are harsh, but your body needs to develop first in that aspect or it's downhill, right?

As long as they’re above 14 and have parental supervision
Yes, but only after puberty has begun, with years of psychological evaluations and support to determine that it is the healthiest course of action.

I do not agree with young queer individuals getting gender affirming surgeries but if a person wants to do it’s their choice
@9D78XJDProgressive2yrs2Y
No, unless an extensive amount of gender critical therapy and intervention by qualified professionals has been completed by the person in question, though social transitioning should be encouraged and allowed.
@8ZF4LXV3yrs3Y
After the age of 16 hormone therapy is fine with no parental permission required and after 18 permanent and surgical measures can be taken
@8YRQL2F3yrs3Y
It depends. If the procedure is reversible, yes. If not, then no.
@8Y262933yrs3Y
Yes, but provide them with the appropriate amount of education and medical information so that they can make an informed decision.
@8V9C77B4yrs4Y
People shouldn’t be allowed to chemically or surgically transition until the age of 21, but those who want to transition/aren’t old enough should be educated on the effects of transitioning/alternative ways to be more comfortable in their own bodies.
@8TPMLFW4yrs4Y
Yes as long as that's the recommendation of their doctor.
@8TKL4LR4yrs4Y
Yes, but they have to be at least 14. They should also be required to go through an information session detailing all the changes their body will go through.
@9B5CG66Republican2yrs2Y
Yes and No,children should not be allowed to make irreversible life decisions and ban all gender transitioning treatments
