Currently, police unions are allowed to collectively bargain with government officials over the methods used to hold police officers accountable for misconduct. Proponents argue that collective bargaining stands in the way of accountability. Opponents of limiting collective bargaining argue that more intense criticism of police will disincentivize officers from doing their jobs resulting in crime rates going up.

If they mess up and they know they have it's on the officers that messed up and they should be punished for it.

A criminal is a criminal period. Police officers that act and chose to make decisions that criminals make then they’re just as bad and they are no longer a police officer their a criminal. Police officers are no exception to the law.

You are assuming a fact not in evidence here. You are saying a criminal is a criminal but the situation is not necessarily one in which you clearly have a criminal act on the inspection of one and it's for the courts and juries to decide if there has been a criminal act. The police officer must do all he or she can to protect the innocents that may be near by and that must include the suspected perpetrator him or herself. Yes, collective bargaining for police unions should only apply to salaries and benefits for police officers.
Police unions help get lawyers for cases involving police misconduct, but they shouldn't have a say in the case, only the lawyer they get for the case should.

As long as it's obvious it was not an accident

i'm pro union, but the police should be run directly by the government
Yes US as african americans never get the correct justice we deserve. Officers have killed us and shot us most of them still have there jobs and are never charged with murder.
@8RNNJL64yrs4Y
Police officers should be tried in the same court structure as other citizens.
police unions are fine as long as they are not being used vindictively

I believe everyone should have the right to unionize, but it starts to become an issue when they are unionizing in order to avoid accountability

im not gonna lie idek what the question is asking
@98CNXMM2yrs2Y
No, there have been too many crimes with police doing more harm than good and never being held accountable. Plus any time a police officer is held in any crime they should automatically release body cam footage to the public. No questions asked.

This question makes absolutely no sense to me.
