Yes, but hate would have to be carefully defined, and agreed on by a majority of all political parties.

It should not be protected, but then which guidelines and criteria should be implemented to determine hate speech.

 @9JD5TYH from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

hate speech can only be criminalized when it directly incites imminent criminal activity or consists of specific threats of violence targeted against a person or group

 @95ZZZZV from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, both because I don’t trust the government to define hate speech, and as long as no violence is threatened

Hate speech is not real like how the boogie man is not real. Hateful or angry opinions are not the same as call to action. "I hate hot dogs, they're really nasty.", is not the same as "Let's get our guns and kill dogs". Being rude and bullying is not hate speech. It is being rude and bullying.

Yes, as long as it does not threaten violence and I don't trust the government to define the boundaries of hate speech.

No, I think the current laws about hate speech not being protected under the first amendment are reasonable

 @979M6N7 from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, as long as it does not cause the other person any harm or distress

The First Amendment is my passport to do what I want and say what I want.
