Yes, and we should decrease the amount of public schools to lower taxes, make a smaller government, and promote growth in the free market

 @9XNV482Republican from California  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, and we should decrease the amount of public schools for growth in the free market, lowering taxes, and limiting government

 @MeRepublican from New Jersey  answered…7mos7MO

Quality schools are in short supply. I support any option that leads to better education. Not every charter school meets this standard, but some do.

 @9SKQQD7Republican from Florida  answered…10mos10MO

I don't hate charter schools although I don't like that they take money away from public education systems.

 @9S9HSV2Republican from Georgia  answered…10mos10MO

I have my own bad experience with charter schools but ,I do like the idea of privatized education and more freedom with what is taught in them.

 @9PFHXVWRepublican from Oklahoma  answered…12mos12MO

I support school choice. Charter schools should have standards that are based on solid educational practices.

 @9L4R9YCRepublican from Missouri  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, I think we should take the concepts of charter schools (having emphasis on students' needs and interests) and put into the agenda of public schools and provide more in depth summer schools that help students move forward. I think teachers should be paid more and given help with less students,. I think education for the most part should be done with individual students in mind instead of just as a group. I think we should still have an emphasis on core classes such as english, mathematics, science, and history. However, it does not take twelve years to learn all of it. We should have the kids be proficient in it and not be allowed to move along in certain classes if they did poorly.

 @9KTJSSHRepublican from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Tax money should not go to anything but public schools. We need a national K-12 curriculum with standardized textbooks and testing for each subject in each grade. We need a much longer school year and national qualifications for teachers. Parents should serve as a board of directors for any school their children attend and have the power to hire and fire school staff.

 @84ZWD6LLibertarian  from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and state governments should reduce red tape to allow the creation of more private and charter schools, and make it easier to receive accreditation

 @84ZWD6LLibertarian  from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and school districts should also support the integration of P-Tech, Public Art, Vocational, Technical, and Trade Schools into charter and public schools

 @97YDZPWRepublican from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

I don't think there is a problem with charter or private schools. If people want to attend them, I don't see an issue. Sure they may be a little more money, but the outcomes for students are good.

 @8FRWJ5NRepublican from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

 @9HLC85JLibertarian  from Colorado  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but not at the expense of funding public schools, and if they're non-profit. Charter schools are OK, however teaching an abundance of political/religious bias to impressionable students should not be allowed.

 @9FB3VRJRepublican from Michigan  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9F2JBH4Libertarian from Virginia  answered…2yrs2Y

No. The most qualified students don't get in. Usually admission is quotas, political agendas, and personal connection.

 @9DRDCMGRepublican from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9CCM8RKLibertarian from Florida  answered…2yrs2Y

No, I support private schools that meet the basic requirements for an education, but are governed by parents.

 @84ZWD6LLibertarian from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and create more charter schools, public arts schools, vocation and trade schools, and job training/CTE programs

 @84ZWD6LLibertarian from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and incentivize states to create more charter schools, public arts schools, vocation and trade schools, and job training programs, and increase access for students through vouchers and/or Education Savings Accounts similar to Florida's program

 @84ZWD6LLibertarian from Pennsylvania  answered…3yrs3Y

No, if a school receives public funding, it should not be privatized. Direct the funding to vocational, technical, and public performing arts schools instead

 @96F4LGWRepublican from South Dakota  answered…3yrs3Y

Government money (taxes) should not be used with and for private involvements

 @969TBMKRepublican from Missouri  answered…3yrs3Y

Both types of schooling have different benefits. If you go to a charter school it will be more strict and school oriented. Public school is less restrictive and allows people to get a better sense of the real world compared to the only school-focused school. I believe we should keep charter schools but prevent the companies from making a huge profit.

 @967RGMYLibertarian from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @95CH6QQRepublican from Oklahoma  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93Q4JRSRepublican from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

 @93MH6XLRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, only if charter schools can meet state testing standards and provide a quality education to obtain government funding.

 @93JCH7ZRepublican from Florida  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only if they are non-profit using funding from public schools and our entire education system should be privatized.

 @93DL7NKRepublican from New York  answered…3yrs3Y

We should be focusing on increasing quality of educations and encouraging STEM in all schools and increase the bar and challenge to help student face the challenge

 @93BFLNFLibertarian from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes. Education should be funded and managed at the state and local levels.

 @938MNWLLibertarian from Mississippi  answered…3yrs3Y

We need to correct the K-12 tax funding inequality. Currently set up to benefit high income families and neglect low income families.

 @93757LVLibertarian from Texas  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but privatize the entire education system. Charter schools use taxpayer dollars so their not entirely without government intervention.

 @9373L6LRepublican from Washington  answered…3yrs3Y

 @83VCCTMLibertarian from Washington  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but use a voucher system based on income to choose between public, chartered or home schooling.

 @92NLKFMLibertarian from Virginia  answered…3yrs3Y

Charter schools divert money from regular public schools; they lack transparency and accountability, and do not do right by either teachers or students.

 @92L8W56Libertarian from Oregon  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes entire education system should be privatized. Classrooms should be monitored remotely by parents not government officials if they want to tune in at anytime to see what their kids are being taught.

 @92K2FCTLibertarian from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and our entire education system should be privatized (so long as there are vouchers).

 @92BQPQQRepublican from Washington  answered…3yrs3Y

 @6XQ5DXPRepublican from Florida  answered…3yrs3Y

Depends, I would support charter or public schools if they're not funded by any tax dollars

 @8Z5PZTLRepublican from Michigan  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8YNTY7YRepublican from Iowa  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes and I support portability of funds so that parents can chose whichever education option works best for their families, to include micro-school/pod or homeschooling.

 @8YKFZFDLibertarian from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Parents should have the choice of where to send there kids not the government

 @8XYN72HRepublican from Virginia  answered…3yrs3Y

I think they can offer a better education than that of public but why can't we just prioritize that goal of educated every child to the fullest, instead of making it a luxury that few can afford.

 @84ZWD6LLibertarian from Pennsylvania  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8WYNLXQLibertarian from Massachusetts  answered…4yrs4Y

No, privatized education should not receive funding from the government, which would’ve otherwise gone to public schools

 @8WXMM3JLibertarian from Georgia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WXL4W3Republican from Connecticut  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WGSBQRLibertarian from Virginia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but we should do more to put education under the control of the parents

 @8W49CGRRepublican from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

Education is vary important and I believe that every student should be given the opportunity to seek the best learning experience they can get. But it should not be available to only the rich or minorities. Charter or public all students who work hard should get the chance to move forward.

 @8VFPHLVLibertarian from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Either parents should be given an account to spend on home schooling, a non profit educational institution, a charter school, or a public school, or public school should end at 6th grade and be private after with no funds from the government. What's the point of indoctrinating people that can't even read, because that's where we're at now.

 @8TDFXG8Republican from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and we should move to school choice where the funding goes to the student over the institution. Allowing a student and parent the ability to choose the path that best fits the need of the student will greatly increase productivity in our younger generation as well as cut redundancies and wasteful spending.

 @8SYGDDRRepublican from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

yes and make public schools meet charter schools standards or the face losing government funding for failing to meet those standards

 @8SVC468Republican from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RQQXPZRepublican from Florida  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RJS6QRRepublican from Oklahoma  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and also offer them to be federalized under the Department of Education.

 @8RDJWLGRepublican from Tennessee  answered…4yrs4Y

If charter schools work so well, why don’t we focus on replicating them in public schools?

 @8R9QRXBRepublican from Georgia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8R3ZQ35Republican from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

I support allowing subsidized private education for those who are in poor school districts who cannot test into better school districts, also hold public schools accountable for the abismal graduation rate.

 @8QCMYY7Republican from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but not at the expense of funding public schools and if the charter schools are non-profit. Education isn't something to profit off of.

 @8Q96L39Libertarian from Kentucky  answered…4yrs4Y

I only support tax deferment for those who send their children to private schools . Let the market decide the economics and dont make parents pay twice to educate their children . I also support tax deferment for those that home school .

 @8PXPNKTLibertarian from Pennsylvania  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PWWKHVRepublican from Kentucky  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but they should not be allowed to participate in competitions or sporting events with public schools.

 @8PVK3Y2Republicanfrom Maine  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but rather hold public schools to same principles (such as flexible curriculum and public funding).

 @8PRVP4MLibertarian from Wisconsin  answered…4yrs4Y

No, until Charter schools are held accountable they run the risk of becoming a profit before child institution

 @8PDJJJHRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

If charter schools are so independent then why do they need money from the government?

 @8NYHP49Republican from Ohio  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes but with the requirements that its non profit and doesnt take funding away from public schools to cause the two to compete for better educational incentives

 @8NSK6TGRepublican from Michigan  answered…5yrs5Y

No, we should fix our current public education system but parents should have the option to send their kid to a private school

 @8NHTVXRRepublican from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y

no, education should not be privatized and also we should focus on our public schools and increasing teacher wages

 @8MXD8KMRepublican from New York  answered…5yrs5Y

Charter schools are great for those who cannot afford a higher institution for example like private schools are a blessing to be able to go to if able to be affordable, although education is needed, so charter school are best to exist, the problem with charter schools is that even though it may be free, there are many problems that occur inside the building, rather than a private school as a private school is more monitored and safe.

 @8KWY5K5Republican from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, only if students from low-income families have equal access to them

 @8KWNFGBRepublican from Illinois  answered…5yrs5Y

If they are gonna be funded by the government they should follow the rules like the public schools

 @8KNV8XVLibertarian from Virginia  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes and I shouldn’t have to pay taxes for education if my child is in a charter school

 @8K5D2M6Libertarian from Pennsylvania  answered…5yrs5Y
