Single-payer healthcare is a system where every citizen pays the government to provide core healthcare services for all residents. Under this system the government may provide the care themselves or pay a private healthcare provider to do so. In a single-payer system all residents receive healthcare regardless of age, income or health status. Countries with single-payer healthcare systems include the U.K., Canada, Taiwan, Israel, France, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.

Heath-care needs to be more accessible but this would further the deficit in equal health for all Among poor and wealthy
@9QWGPT5Peace and Freedom11mos11MO
If the government makes other policies that force most of Americans to be dirt poor, yes. All should then be taken care of.
I only worry that I would lose my medical freedom and the government would tell me what doctors and hospitals I had to go to for treatment. I prefer naturopathic medicine.
No health insurance should be kept private but non profit and the government should only have medicaid for cancer patients, elderly, disabled and military veterans and active (military should have a choice between va or the place they what)
Healthcare should be partially single payer but partially goverment funded to ensure they're no abusing the system but I think goverment should control the price of healthcare as its a public need for everyone making it affordable
Maybe. Regulation of the current system is a better place to start. Private companies profiting off of healthcare is not a good system.
Yes, though I would prefer the government provide 100% free healthcare for all citizens, as well as, increase government spending on healthcare across the board, including funding organizations like Planed Parenthood.
Yes, but still allow people with special needs get the healthcare they need if they show a healthcare plan to the doctor that tells the doctor/nurse what they need.
@9DYGSRRWomen’s Equality2yrs2Y
Not too much info on this
The government should not be involved in healthcare however I do not agree with the healthcare system we have now.
not entirely sure what that is~.
Yes, and we should have Medicare For All funded by reducing administrative costs by 62.5%, prescription drug prices 70%, and stopping overpricing and no funding unnecessary procedures and treatments, as well as cutting hospital costs 30%.
Yes, but only if you're income is below 500,000 a year.
yes, we should be able to have free medicare/ health care especially for the poor but private insurances should still be active in for those that would rather a different care.
Yes, It would cost 4.7 trillion dollars a year, but I would pass a regulation that cuts health and medical care costs by more than half, and then it would cost 2.35 trillion dollars, and 3 trillion dollars a year is currently spent.
Yes, we we should have Medicare For All that is funded by a regulation to cut medical care and health care costs in half, socialize health insurance and then use current Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, CHIP, TRICARE, and VHA funding.
No, we need Medicare For All which should be funded through passing a regulation that limits health care costs, socializing health insurance, and finally IHS, Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, CHIP, TRICARE, and VHA funding.
@8XTYS3QWomen’s Equality3yrs3Y
yes, but not for the rich.
@8WY5TFQWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
dont have an opinion on this topic
@8WX7B9SWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
Both, this system guarantees healthcare for everyone and is too expensive at same time. So I think the single healthcare system should happen in a certain period of time.
don't even know about this
Yes, but use money from those who are worthy of being taxed, AKA selfish rich people who hoard their money.
Yes and no. I do agree with some aspects on the single-payer healthcare system, however I do not think taxes should go up (have to re-budget), but I do not like the idea of a monopoly when it comes to healthcare. I do think that it would be fantastic that all people would have coverage and we would be healthier as a country, however it is worry-some that the government would have all of the control, they get to set the pay and what/how it covers illnesses.
@8WL8JG6Women’s Equality4yrs4Y
No because people have special needs that have more requirements than your basic health care.
@8WH4CTNWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
Yes, unless this person is living with someone or has a family of their own.
government should pay middle class and lower class medical bills and rich can pay their own
No because its too expensive but yes because it guarantees healthcare for everyone so neutral
Yes, but the rich should pay more than low income families. Not every one could afford.
@8VR229QWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
I am uneducated on what this is fully.
If we lower military budget, we can use that money towards healthcare.
A person shouldn't pay for healthcare at all and should be free.
@8VB5LMVWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
yes, but add systems of checks and balances to prevent the govt from over-stepping boundaries with personal health care decisions. i.e. womens health.
@8V7V5WRWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
I think we should not have to pay for healthcare at all.
This sounds like a good option but it would depend on how much each resident has to pay.
Yes, but this should be optional and allow the citizens to choose for themselves whether or not they want to be part of this system.
@8TQKYMVWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
As long as people are able to afford it, then I guess I'll support
its more reliable to have two, so im not gonna say i support it, but if somebody needs it then it should be there for them
i believe that it would work better
I do t know much about the topic
@8S86WPCWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
People should be allowed to choose what type of insurance they want.
No, you should do the universal healthcare system because it's more helpful for everyone.
@8S745FSWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
Yes, depending on economic status
@8RXMHKFWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
We should all have free healthcare and care that provides the same and equal service to all
not too sure about that subject
Yes, but make sure to pay healthcare workers good money.
no, I think that you shouldn't have to pay for a healthcare system you aren't using
@8QH276JWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
Kind of, because some people like it
@8Q5294DWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
This question is not important to me.
it depends on what type of situation a person prefer to
@8PTQ46MWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
Only for low-income families/people.
dont really know what this means
ehh I could go both ways
All insurance and healthcare should be free
yes, it would provide better and more affordable care for everyone . it would eliminate the financial threat and impaired access to care for the tens of millions who do not have coverage but are unable to afford the out-of-pocket expenses because of deficiencies in insurance plans .
No, this is worse for lower-income users. It makes them pay more taxes and, even if they do not use health care, giving people mass amounts of money is not good for people
@8F7Q6HYWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
I would say sorta? Splitting it, I don't really get it to be honest.
@8DVWRLCWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
health care for all with minimal government involvement.
@8DQ6CTNWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
No, because in many of these countries the health care is not as good as the US
@8DN6GXTWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
we should have free health care
no, but make all healthcare more affordable.
Healthcare should be provided for low income people who request it with the proper background check to make sure they do need it and people who can afford it should pay for it themselves
Each private healthcare company should be charged a certain income-tax type of fee to contribute to a system such as this one. This way, everyone who can afford private healthcare can receive what is covered by private healthcare and everyone who can’t will still receive healthcare.
@8CXGXKCWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
Again, I do not know what this is.
Yes, only for those with low income
@8CSRB7BWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
yes and no at the same time because yes everyone get heath care at a good cost but it will raise taxes for people who pay.
I don't really understand "single payer" healthcare system
Maybe the government could provide very basic healthcare
Yes, however, this might damage good private companies that set out to help those that the government under the single-payer method cannot reach out to.
Yes, but if people choose to opt out/can’t afford it, let them have the choice
Its to expensive i feel like everyone should have health care the afforable and not just gonna kill you when you see it.U.s should put more of the u.s tax into health care instead of prisons.
Not enough information on this subject to make a decision
@9B3M6C9Women’s Equality2yrs2Y
i don't understand the question.
@98NTRYSWomen’s Equality2yrs2Y
I think healthcare should be abolished
@97M9QWFWomen’s Equality3yrs3Y
I don't feel as though I know about this topic enough to weigh in on it.
As long as it is not abused, or the people do not have to pay a very large amount of money.
I support socialized medicine.
only in certain situations.
@8SBNN8XWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
Don’t know much about this.
@8FR2HTPWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
Yes, but having a healthcare system with more people should also be accepted.
I don;t know what that means
@8DK6CB9Women’s Equality5yrs5Y
Yes, but it should not be too expensive.
Yes and No. Without a single-payer healthcare system there would be no Medicare. No, because there are wealthy patients, whom if you take proper care of would donate money to these establishments.
@8D9H48LWomen’s Equality5yrs5Y
I support a FREE healthcare system.
Yes, but the rules and regulations for it should be extremely strict. For example, if someone goes to the hospital every week for pain meds, then they should start being charged and the same for all similar cases.
Not informed on this subject.
@8WP75PYWomen’s Equality4yrs4Y
Yes, but pay off National Debt first.
