Yes, but not for immediate deportation. Fine them and put a timed processing hold on an immigration application if they still wish the enter the country. Repeated illegal crossings result in deportation.

 @9KBR434Republican from Kansas  answered…1yr1Y

I think that there should be ways or programs for immigrants to become legal or live here legally. If they do not want to take any programs then they should be deported.

 @9GGKNHS from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

Law enforcement should detain anybody who commits a crime, transferring them to immigration authorities should be done on a case by case basis

 @9GCQ2C3 from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

No, only if they are convicted of a violent crime because i think too many non-violent immigrants are being deported

 @9FG766B from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9D52VMK from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but to be clear only because they have violated the law by being here illegally. If the law changes that they are then considered to be here legally than they should be arrested and tried for crime like any other individual who breaks the law.

 @9CHRTS5 from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @94DFHBM from Kansas  answered…3yrs3Y

If a crime is committed yes they should be accountable like everyone citizen or not .

 @9258CMM from Kansas  answered…3yrs3Y

All illegal immigrants should be tried in new circumstances of court and if convicted will be held in prison in their homeland.

 @8XSQ7R9 from Kansas  answered…3yrs3Y

detain them for any crime they would detain anyone else for and obey the law by sending them to the immigration authorities

 @8WVQ8WF from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, all illegal immigrants who have committed a crime should be turned over to federal authorities

 @8W7LR69 from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

Everyone has the right to jury and speedy trial, being immigrants shouldn't have an affect of that right

 @8VQLHD8 from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

They shouldn't have to go to jail but they should face federal authorities.

 @8V6VQBK from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, in some areas there will be too many police looking for reasons to arrest people who are of a certain ethnicity.

 @igeryuIndependent from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8S4WF27 from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

For minor misdemeanors then no. But any conviction for major theft, DUIs, and up should be automatic contact with ICE. So serious misdemeanors and all felonies.

 @8QHX7XX from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

Illegal immigrants should be detained regardless of crime, but only after heavy background checks should they be safely and swiftly deported. If a false claim is made about a person being illegal, the accuser should be eligible for a fine.

 @8PVPKQB from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

If an immigrant is a central unit of a family and the main supporter of the family, they should not be transferred, so that way the family can still survive. But if they are an individual, I would say yes, transfer them.

 @8PTVBCB from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8P5JXW7Libertarian from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

they should be in trouble for their crimes, but not transferred to federal immigration authorities.

 @8NPLLCJ from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

No Thay Sall make a falsity to grant citizenship of illegal immigrants and get thare green card but put in jail for the crime Thay cometied

 @8N5F5PD from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

If an Illegal Immigrant is caught for any crime they should be treated with the same rules within the state, treated the same as an american citizen.

 @8N56YM4 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8M9N8F4 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

No, illegal immigrants should have the same punishment for misdemeanors as citizens only if they comment a major crime should be dealt with differently

 @8M8HHK5 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

They should be screened and provided a path to citizenship if they are law abiding, but taken to federal authorities if they refuse the aid.

 @8M5N8QS from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8LZG7CQ from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8LXNDVG from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

They live off our land, take our jobs, and pay no taxes. I think they shouldn't be deported, just a better chance at being a U.S. citizen. Right now, the system is a bit messed up.

 @8LXKPXDPeace and Freedom from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes they should be detained by law enforcement, but not handed over to immigration authorities.

 @8LXK7PX from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

A person should only be convicted for the crime they were suspected of in the first place.

 @8LTVYRK from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8LSB4SW from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Make it feel like they are treated like a human and do the same they do as a normal citizen.

 @8LS82RR from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

No, only if they are convicted of a violent crime,there are too many non-violent immigrants are being deported

 @8LPDGT4 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

It depends on how big the crime was. I think of everyone as equals and everyone should be given the same treatment and I don't judge people on where they are from but from their actions.

 @8LP3X4W from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Under the current law, yes. But I think there should be a lot of immigration reform done to eliminate situations like these.

 @8LL4C53 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes because not only did they commit a crime but their here illegally as well.

 @8LL33JD from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8LL272H from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but the federal government was only given the power and responsibility of creating a uniform process of naturalization, therefore, due to the 10th amendment immigration is a State issue. Local law enforcement should be allowed to escalate to the federal government but federal government should not be able to automatically detain immigrants on State land without the State escalating to them. Escalation should happen according to State established laws.

 @8LCNJJHIndependent from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

it shouldn't have to be a felony but getting pulled over of a head light out doesn't require deportation. maybe move the requirement to a gross misdemeanor

 @8L5VLSH from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes however the court system used to try illegals facing deportation needs to be improved so that they have a fair trial not just a speedy one without even access to a translator

 @8L44256Republican from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

If the crime is a major crime I believe illegal immigrants should be deported and banned from the United States. If it is minor then they should be charged with the crime then deported.

 @8KTNG4G from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Ys, illegal immigrants are breaking federal laws, but there also needs to be immigration reform to make this issue less of an issue.

 @8JJQ523Republican from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @Sonicfoxfire from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8FTXW5B from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes. If they were detained for a minor federal crime. Than they should go do federal facility. If they were detained for a state level crime. Than they should go to a county or state facility

 @8DBFMG6Republican from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, before enacting to deport, look at the severity of the crime and whether or not they are being productive

 @8D4DNLB from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but it depends on the type of minor crime. If you are illegally here and you commit a crime you should be subject to the nations laws and if it is found you are here illegally you should be handed over to the immigration authorities.

 @8CDKYGL from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

I guess it really depends on the view of the minor crime committed by the illegal immigrant

 @8CDJWPX from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

No, this leads to a slippery slope of profiling and potentially accusing the innocent of minor crimes just to have them deported.

  @9ZLQJSJDemocrat from Kansas  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, all illegal immigrants should be turned over to federal authorities and deported

yes

  @9ZLQJSJDemocrat from Kansas  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, all illegal immigrants should be turned over to federal authorities and deported

yes

 @9CJJYGB from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, all illegal immigrants should be turned over to federal authorities, but not necessarily for deportation, but to begin a streamlined process toward citizenship.

 @9C4MP3Z from Kansas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @8SQYSXD from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8QJCJS8Libertarian from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

Need comprehensive reform, cause we need immigrants to help do the work Americans think they are to good to do

 @8PVKN5K from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

No, it may start a climate of fear and lead to fewer crimes being reported.

 @8M3MPP6 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8LJXDKB from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes and No, because it depends on the crime they're committing. There should be warnings for minor crimes like stealing or theft, and when two warnings are acquired they are then transported to federal immigration authorities. More violent crimes like: Damage to resident owned or government owned(depending on the situation) or murder/assault(also depending on the situation) should see Illegal immigrants transported immediately to federal immigration authorities.

 @8LGMZM5 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8L94SZ6 from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but opportunity for legalized citizenship should be provided before resorting to deportation.

 @8FNMW6N from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, if that’s the policy of the local law enforcement agency as approved by their elected governing body.

 @8FFGSTQ from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @MB9PMJ from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

This is a federal issue and takes state and local law enforcement away from their legitimate duties. They should detain only those that would have been detained regardless of immigration status

 @8LBRM8FIndependent from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Unless there is previous knowledge of violent crime, or criminal history and are wanted by the authorities in their own country, they should not be handed over to the Federal Immigration Authorities.

 @8LN5SZV from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @KNJZQN from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

If the illegal immigrant committed a minor offense, they should be enrolled into the "system" for documentation and screening so visas and tax-paying compliance processes can begin. If they are violent or major offenders, process them for deportation.

 @K8TL2L from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

 @LKXXWS from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, it is because they illegal. When you have a word like "illegal" nothing they do is legitimate. There needs to be reform in the immigration system to fix this issue, not making it ok for people to break the law.

 @MHY2ZY from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

If they have committed a crime (violent or not) and are illegal immigrants they need to be deported.

 @NKNYKQ from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Those who come here from any other country and willing to become US citizens, learn English and follow our laws are welcome. If not and you break laws...you have to go back.

 @JLCNBC from Kansas  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, all illegal immigrants should be turned over to the federal authorities and deported, they are ILLEGAL immigrants.
