We shouldn’t base our “leader” based off of popularity contest but our government should be more of a nation wide decision in order to provide the best decisions it should be more of a cabinet or counsel

 @B55JSH4 from North Carolina  answered…4wks4W

No, but it should probably only be used for small cities/small areas in terms of population to ensure that their vote counts.

 @9Y4V58Q from North Carolina  answered…7mos7MO

No, but we should get rid of primary parties(dem/reb) every candidate should get equal time for rallies and tv promotions/debate time from major networks for fair voting, voting on policies instead of voting for them because they are reb or dem.

 @9WGT597 from North Carolina  answered…7mos7MO

No, but the electoral college needs to be neutral again so there is no swaying of opinions because of political ideology

 @9WD2X48 from North Carolina  answered…7mos7MO

It should be set in place, but audited slightly because its idea is a good one, however it is just outdated. Should play a role, however the popular vote should be the the main factor.

 @9TXVZBW from North Carolina  answered…8mos8MO

the whole system should be, you cant have a debate and lie on both sides during it. Thats just two children running too mommy trying to get there word/lies in first to get there way.

 @9MNQWSF from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

I think they should be able to vote but don't have to. I mean it wouldn't represent everyone anyway since not everyone can vote. Popular vote would be good as well I believe.

 @9KRZZBF from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

I think this could go either way because electoral college is an easy way to count votes. But, the people should also have say because sometimes the person who loses has more votes.

 @9KCQGH6 from North Carolina  answered…1yr1Y

No but the balance between how much their matters and how much the peoples matters should be more equal

 @9H3LNBP from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that the (corrected) electoral college and popular vote should be 50/50; add them up, and average them out.

 @9GHYJHBRepublican from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

No because if you abolish the elctrol college that mean the bigger states they would deside for the preisdent the peoples voices wouldnt be heard of then

 @9FRM4HS from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and put the power into a select few qualified members of the working class who are sure to work for the betterment of the common people and the destruction of capitalism.

Yes, but it has to be decided years in advance of implementation. It would completely change the way candidates campaign

 @97343BM from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes but only because I don't like how a state can be won over by having only a couple more votes

Should be popular vote...voting should be done by fingerprint via personal computer screens and counted by computers

 @93K4PTP from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

No I think the electoral college is valuable to an extent but definitely needs improvement.

 @9399BWG from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @936DBJTRepublican from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92X4RRK from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

They need to change how the electoral college works so that, all the small states are still valuable, but still keeps things fair

 @92WYJ49 from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Ranked voting without “exhausting” throwing out the ballots that are not completely filled.

 @92RCL9D from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @923H3TV from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but I do believe that the popular vote deserves more recognition in voting.

 @8ZVBCN2 from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

I think the votes should solely be based on the individual citizens not sent to an electoral college

 @8ZSCX6L from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Should go by how many counties you win within a state to determine winner of that state.

 @8ZR7TVD from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but make Gerrymandering illegal and have a ranked choice system for ballots.

 @8ZNTX2R from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8ZNBK7HLibertarian from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

The theory behind the electoral college should be implemented to state districts too.

 @8ZBQZ8T from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

it shouldn't be gotten rid of but should be changed to include all people

 @8YZRHY4 from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8YRTTYQ from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

the citizens have no real say in the election. Get rid of it completely C4--

 @8YR9B5G from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but appointed electors should be required to vote for the popular candidate of their state.

 @8Y8KN7B from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Voter ID needs to be strictly in effect for people to vote, only American citizens should be allowed to vote.

 @8WH9YWXLibertarian from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RT5SV7 from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

No but the balance should be updated before every election to ensure reasonable numbers based on the states population.

 @8Q69Z2V from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8MH45N2 from North Carolina  answered…5yrs5Y

I have mixed feelings towards this topic. I think that both ways have pros and cons that level each other out.

 @9BK277W from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and make a transition into a direct democracy, or a democracy that will not give those in charge a massive power.

 @MajorDade1835! from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

I think that the Electoral College should remain, but illegalize faithless electors.

 @99Q7C7C from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Elected officials should be in office because the majority of the US chose them

 @993DN34 from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98Z8TRJ from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

i think they should just count up whoever votes for who ever they want and count them all up and see who wins

 @98XT2ML from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, Because it doesn't give the average voter a chance to participate inside the vote. The electoral states were created for small states. They should give people a chance to speak. The people is the government and if the people want you, they will show it.

 @95SZ6BV from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @dgilb43 from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, switch to a ranked voting system, and require an aptitude test(in audio and written format in multiple languages) that tests for ones knowledge of what is going on in the United States. Ex. farming, pollution, city, and foreign affairs.

 @8Z6JKYG from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but the number of electoral college votes should be based on the states opinion, not a representative's and should not have a winner take all system.

 @8ZT8MJ7 from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

 @992YVLY from North Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

No, unless we come up with a system that honors what the founding fathers wanted.
