The United States Electoral College is the mechanism established by the United States Constitution for the indirect election of the President of the United States and Vice President of the United States. Citizens of the United States vote in each state at a general election to choose a slate of “electors” pledged to vote for a party’s candidate. The Twelfth Amendment requires each elector to cast one vote for president and another vote for vice president. During the 2019 Democratic Presidential Primary 15 candidates, including Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg and Elisabeth Warren, called for the abolition of the electoral college.

We should change the whole system
@98GFRGW2yrs2Y
No. States elect the President, not a direct vote of the populace. Basic civics.
@9L94NSW1yr1Y
No, but national vote overrules it. Or needs to be debated further if national vote and electoral college votes are differing such as past elections
@9FN2YDV2yrs2Y
Open to a better system if there is, but it works
@9F774SB2yrs2Y
Not knowledgeable enough on the issue.
@9DRDVT82yrs2Y
Yes, and switch it with each state counting as one electoral vote so there is no favoritism and you fight for
@9B27Z7H2yrs2Y
yes and no i like how everyone’s vote would matter but the electoral collage makes it simpler

I believe reform of the electoral system, in a constitutional amendment that the states have to carry out the will of the people of that state by the federal government is in order. and also that the states should be able to vote on whether they want a majority take all or proportional to other people voted electoral system in the spirit of states' Rights.
@96F3MT43yrs3Y
We should directly elect individuals.
It should still be in place, but less important
@8QPT77P4yrs4Y
No, combine a ranked voting system with our current electoral system
@8Q8GD6W4yrs4Y
Ditch voting all together and create an Empire
@8NHB2VV5yrs5Y
If Trump loses electoral and wins popular then, yes
@8LJTSQQ5yrs5Y
I think yes they should exist because they are people that are educated about the law and will probably make a smart decision. But in the U.S. where it's a democracy, the people should be the ones picking the president. So I don't agree with there being electoral colleges in the US. But I think we should have them because everyday people are dumb and will follow a wave of who ever is in control of the media.
@8HQWJWP5yrs5Y
No but the electorate vote must be tied to the populare vote in their district.
@9CYV2ND2yrs2Y
Yes. - Though Electors are supposed to place their vote in accordance to the will of the people, corruption abounds. Sadly, an Elector can be bribed. With our current technology, everyone's vote can be counted individually.
@95JJ85P3yrs3Y
Reform the electoral college to balance counties, precincts, and popular vote
@9739S5RRepublican3yrs3Y
The electoral college should remain, but their votes should be determined by the votes of the people they represent.
@96ZCNQR3yrs3Y
No, federal powers should be limited to the extreme, and those that remain should be weighted by the electoral college.
@8NHTHZK5yrs5Y
No but they should be monitored to ensure our votes are made correctly based on a state or area number of votes majority wins.
@8GQMWSR5yrs5Y
It is important for smaller states to be represented so not abolished, but majorly reformed.
