Trump Demands List of All January 6 FBI Agents

FBI has provided the Justice Department with details of roughly 5,000 employees who worked on January 6 investigations, including employee IDs and job roles.

Acting Deputy AG Emil Bove issued a memo titled "Terminations" demanding this information with a Tuesday deadline, following his earlier firing of eight senior FBI officials.

Elon Musk representatives have been spotted at FBI headquarters as part of Trump's new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Several FBI employees have filed a class-action lawsuit against the Justice Department, claiming constitutional and privacy law violations.

The lawsuit alleges the data collection is meant to intimidate FBI personnel and discourage reporting of future Trump-related malfeasance.

Agents were required to complete surveys detailing their involvement in January 6 cases, including arrests, grand jury work, and trial testimony.

The initiative has faced resistance from agents working with new administration officials on cultural changes at FBI headquarters.

FBI Director nominee Kash Patel promised during Senate testimony that agents wouldn't face political retribution.

Agent groups have reached out to congressional Republicans seeking protection from political retaliation.

Been in law enforcement 20 years. That 5000 number includes analysts, support staff, evidence techs. Not all field agents. Media spinning this.
