This should be changed in order to better the common good of everybody. It would be to complicated to show this but to basically remove the political party system in where they control everything and put a better one in place that institutes smart individuals who have major votes over the average individual.

 @B2WHJ87 from California  answered…3mos3MO

I think the electoral college is flawed, and it should be replaced, the problem is any other form of voting known to people is also pretty flawed.

 @9XB2LRR from California  answered…7mos7MO

No, but fix representation so people existing in rural states don't have as much political power than those in major cities.

 @9TVS9L6 from California  answered…8mos8MO

Add population based voting and get rid of winner-take-all elections. Abolish electoral college for being ineffective for actually representing voters

 @9SCXXF2 from California  answered…9mos9MO

No, but it should instead support the decision of the popular vote instead of being the deciding factor

 @9RYQMDJ  from California  answered…9mos9MO

No but make electoral college voters accountable and hold them to vote as the people wanted instead of having no restrictions on how they can vote.

 @9LKM7TVDemocrat from California  answered…1yr1Y

The current voting system needs significant reform to avoid strategic voting and disproportionally important swing-state votes, not abolition.

 @9JFMNHJ  from California  answered…1yr1Y

The electoral college is valuable, but the states should not be allowed to consolidate their electoral votes and should instead submit them as they stand for tally. if it is 50/50 so be it. More effort should be but in to ensuring third parties are equally heard.

 @9G6N7LM from California  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes because what's the whole point for every American to vote if it's up to the Electoral College to vote who can be President?

 @9DNY6ZB from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9DNSGGFDemocrat from California  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but the electoral college votes shouldn't be the only thing that matters.

 @95R5DZ8Libertarian from California  answered…3yrs3Y

No but the way they vote should be a direct reflection of the peoples views,not theirs

 @95PJBWQ from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I believe that those affairs are for the people who deal with laws and how a system works, yet I have the belief that it should be in the benefit of the people of the world and not for political greed or abuse of the Gov.

 @95HVTXL from California  answered…3yrs3Y

we should make a third party where there is no representative. and we just vote on almost every law and submit that and go by that.

 @958WTZ8 from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @92WTDBD from California  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but switch to a ranked voting system or proportional representation.

 @92J8YZMRepublican from California  answered…3yrs3Y

Don't abolish it, but reform it so it is fairer to both parties instead of one party.

 @8ZXZBRZDemocrat from California  answered…3yrs3Y

It should be winner takes all for electoral votes. It should be proportional to how much they win.

 @8ZS3XWS from California  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Y8LS8G from California  answered…3yrs3Y

No, I don’t think it needs to be reformed yet but it does need to undergo some change so that it’s not longer a winner take all system or a only the populated area gets the most votes.

 @8XJ673B from California  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but Electoral votes should be made to go by the popular vote of each state

 @8WZXL87 from California  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but winner take all system in states for electoral votes should be abolished.

 @8WTPRKZCommunist from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and switch to a jury-like system in which many average Americans are selected at random. They vote using a method other than FPTP and are fully compensated for their time.

 @8WQ5GYT from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Vote in a ranking system of 1-3 or 1-5 so that people are forced to vote against a candidate

 @8WCT2VK from California  answered…4yrs4Y

With how things are going with a more polarized party system getting rid of the electoral college could make sense. But, if people were more educated to be less polarized then the electoral college could make sense.

 @8VQK7PNIndependent from California  answered…4yrs4Y

No, but the ability of electors to choose their own candidate should be eliminated.

 @SarahmasettiPeace and Freedom from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8S6GCLGCommunist from California  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and shift to a direct democracy, to eradicate the problems with representative systems and give the people more say.

 @8RRH7L7Independent from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PDZV6C from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8NSDTKT from California  answered…5yrs5Y

it should be based on how many people voted not the points in the state

 @8MPZSQG from California  answered…5yrs5Y

No. States and local governments should have more power over their own areas because the federal is too large to be representative of all people in all areas.

 @8KX5PS5 from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8JSZNS8 from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8HYDV58 from California  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but before being abolished there should be discussion of a new system that keeps the electoral college in mind

 @8H5MZVRDemocrat from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8FV455M from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8DL5WPJIndependent from California  answered…5yrs5Y

if a candidate gets more than 55% of the vote the electoral college should be disregarded but if the election is within 5% of each other the electoral college should be used.

 @9D2D5WH from California  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but increase the number of representatives in the House so that each representative has fewer people in their district.

 @9C7XXQQ from California  answered…2yrs2Y

It is up to them to decide whether they vote to the college abolishments.

 @9C4GSZ7 from California  answered…2yrs2Y

No but we should adopt the district plan to make the election more fair.

 @9C44Y5S from California  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9959Y7TDemocrat from California  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but the balance of votes by population should be updated AND reform so that votes are distributed proportionally instead of the current winner take all system

 @8VZZ9HJ from California  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8NYDYVP from California  answered…5yrs5Y

 @9DRTZJZ from California  answered…2yrs2Y

It plays a huge role in representative democracy and what makes the U.S a Democratic Republic. Abolishing it outright would lead to chaos by the people. Mob rule possibly.

 @8KX67Q9 from California  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but it should be reformed to ensure proportional distribution of votes.
