Yes, but move to a ranked voting system to promote more political parties, if we're going to have them we might as well divide them into smaller parties focused on separate issues instead of two leviathans of society which only serves to polarize us.

Yes, switch to a representative democracy (popular vote) system, and end 1st pass the post voting

 @B3NTL6CIndependent from Indiana  answered…2mos2MO

No, but the electoral college's decision should have less influence than the popular vote in the election process

 @9WPPH35 from Indiana  answered…7mos7MO

I don’t think it necessarily should, I see how it’s confusing and most young people nowadays don’t get the concept but it can be taught easily.

 @9WM353S from Indiana  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, the electoral college is absurd. Under no circumstance should a candidate who has lost the popular vote be deemed the winner. The electoral college essentially makes votes that are casted in non-swing states irrelevant.

 @9W3TFGFRepublican from Indiana  answered…7mos7MO

No, removing the electoral college is unconstitutional and favors the likes of major cities over the rest of the nation.

 @9HP2HXHDemocrat from Indiana  answered…1yr1Y

The government should be more representative (say if 5 people vote for one person but 6 vote for another, the person with 6 votes would get all the electoral college votes, that is not democratic)

Yes, and there should be a non-partisan system set up to redistrict and correct bias from jerry-mandering

No, but ranked choice voting should be implemented nationwide, allowing all candidates a fair run.

 @93FCL8Y from Indiana  answered…3yrs3Y

Realistically it is almost impossible to replace the Electoral College.

This made sense when it took days to vote, ensuring more even representation. Now, the smaller states do not need this protection. The Republican party does. Good luck in getting this abolishsed.

 @8Z99BB8 from Indiana  answered…3yrs3Y

Either abolished or adjusted to be based on population density, NOT just population.

Each US HOR District should get to place their own presidential vote and have 2 “winner take all” votes for each state.

No, but require a state's electoral vote to be the same as it's popular vote.

I think it is unfair that the popular vote might not become president, but I think the electoral college is fine. As long as it is more honest, and actually goes somewhat towards the popular voting system.

 @8N8DNH7 from Indiana  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, because the electoral vote pretty much defeats the purpose of democracy and makes the next president not up to the people.

 @8N5FV5J from Indiana  answered…5yrs5Y

No but it should be greatly changed. Make the votes distributed more evenly, and either distrubute the votes to canidates based on there perecent or use ranked choice voting for states.

No but it should have major reworks. First of all remove the electors and make it more direct but still by state. Also implement ranked choice voting in all states. Second distribute votes more fairly and have the ranked choice voting "threshold" be 55-60%.

 @8LNX9KD from Indiana  answered…5yrs5Y

peopel who now more about it should have a biger say than sombody who know nothing

 @9CBXZ6VIndependent from Indiana  answered…2yrs2Y

No, however, the electoral votes should be tied to the popular vote of each congressional district. With the exception of the 2 electoral votes given to each state by virtue of the Senate delegation which should be awarded in a manner determined by each State; or eliminated altogether.

 @8VYCRWX from Indiana  answered…4yrs4Y

Whether or not the electoral college is abolished, it should at least be changed to updated vote balances and/or reform for distributional proportions.

 @8QNMYGN from Indiana  answered…4yrs4Y

I think that we should either keep the electoral college or switch to the Congressional District Method used by Maine and Nebraska.

 @8QKPGZF from Indiana  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8P2DDMR from Indiana  answered…5yrs5Y

don't remove the electoral college because if the election is just based off of the popular vote it would be extremely boring to watch. However, the popular vote should have a bit more power in the decision of the next president.

 @8LQCL78 from Indiana  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8L7KVT2 from Indiana  answered…5yrs5Y

No, but voters need to be educated on the issues being addressed before they vote, not just for which candidate they like better.

 @8K73ZZK from Indiana  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8G6S252 from Indiana  answered…5yrs5Y

Neither the electoral college or popular vote voting systems is good and we should reform to give the power back to the people
