It should be based on actual votes and all be actually correct rather than people who can mess with it even be involved.

 @9WMLP9NPeace and Freedom from Ohio  answered…8mos8MO

No then one party would always choose the president and it would not be a represented election of the people.

 @9WJPB3VPeace and Freedom from Tennessee  answered…8mos8MO

Have trustworthy voting representatives that are selected who are being accountable of vote selection that the public trust.

 @9WFHBJHPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

I am sooo uneducated with anything that has to do with politics that i have no idea what his means

 @9WBJBM4Peace and Freedom from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

The candidates should not be chosen to represent a Republican or a Democrat presidential nominee based on how much money they can raise. The government (taxpayers) should pay to hear what each candidate has to say Prior to election year. All candidates should have an ex amount of time on television to speak to the country. American citizens Are at the mercy of candidates, rich friends

 @9VK3TPYPeace and Freedom  from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, and the votes should be counted properly and elections shall be made by the number of votes not by who is already elected.

 @9VD96JTPeace and Freedom from Oklahoma  answered…8mos8MO

One person, one vote. May suck to count up that many, but then taxes get filed just fine don't they?

 @9TRH8MMPeace and Freedom from Ohio  answered…9mos9MO

There are still voting disparities existing and the voting system and polls is not accurate for lower income neighborhoods and felons

 @9T27463Peace and Freedom from Nevada  answered…9mos9MO

No, but we should make changes to it. We should take the approximate population of a state and divide it by its number of electoral votes to find out about how many people per electoral vote. Then the state can be split between parties depending on who they vote for, but not having a complete popular vote.

 @9STCYZ8 from Utah  answered…9mos9MO

No, but smaller more popular parties should be involved in each state with the same level of representation as both parties.

 @9SKMWDVfrom Ohio  answered…10mos10MO

Itroduce an ameritocracy where only individuals who are educated on our government system are eligible to vote and weigh the vote based on their education.

 @9LHBB2C from Pennsylvania  answered…1yr1Y

The whole system needs recreated to give more chances to individuals and not be dominated by just two parties.

 @9LGT7RJ from Texas  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, and Congress members should vote on the president, with the election decided by a majority result.

 @9K7FFKTPeace and Freedom from Florida  answered…1yr1Y

Others defend the electoral college, pointing out its role in the balance of power between more and less populated states.

 @9H8RLWGPeace and Freedom from Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

I would agree if I could find reasonable proof that it is a rigged system, if it isn't however, I would not.

 @9GHLHDBPeace and Freedom from Alabama  answered…2yrs2Y

It's hard to say, but the system needs to be made where an actual reliable person can be put in office so the people can be convinced so they don't make the wrong decision.

 @9FJDN7PPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

no because the people elected should not be the ones deciding and it should just be the people

 @9FD8NHPPeace and Freedomanswered…2yrs2Y

I believe it should be more researched (the percentage of their involvement)

 @8XRL33B from Kansas  answered…4yrs4Y

In my opinion, there's not really an exact answer I have. We're all uncertain of the education levels here in the U.S., and the problem is that it's not consistent. This question is completely dependent on how many people are educated properly about how U.S policies and government work.

 @9GX287XPeace and Freedom from Connecticut  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, since this is the only way that ensures representation of the whole country instead of just major cities. However, there are ways to make things fair by; reforming so that votes are distributed proportionally instead of the current winner-take-all system, the balance of votes by population being updated. If those changes are made then a switch to another voting system like representative democracy (popular vote) or a ranked voting system wont be needed

 @9CMR437Peace and Freedomfrom Pennsylvania  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but also reform so that we use a fairer voting system (e.g. STAR voting)

 @9BYJXL3 from Arkansas  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes. I think the president should be decided by the entire population, not an assembly of biased people from either party. And yes, even if you are for or against a candidate, and the decision you made also the majority of the population's decision as well, the Electoral College is able to change this, and that is not the kind of power the Electoral College should have.

 @9BNSWYDPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9B2V4JJPeace and Freedom from Michigan  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, switch to a representative democracy, but put a safety net in place in case of voter ignorance/harmful policies

 @96DGY2MPeace and Freedom from Kentucky  answered…3yrs3Y

kinda but depends on who is running and the points they are making about why they should be president.

 @969QHWVIndependent from Ohio  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9625YR9Peace and Freedom from Georgia  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and the Senate should be abolished along with switching to a ranked-choice voting system.

 @95PJBWQ from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I believe that those affairs are for the people who deal with laws and how a system works, yet I have the belief that it should be in the benefit of the people of the world and not for political greed or abuse of the Gov.

No, but instead of making it only a few states, have every state participate in every election

 @94WVHFKPeace and Freedom from North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

I still wanna know their votes but I don't want them to have priority over our votes.

 @94TG9H5Peace and Freedom from California  answered…3yrs3Y

I think the balance of representatives per state should be updated but that the voters should many vote. (voting should matter more or be as equal as the electoral college).

 @94G74PF from New Hampshire  answered…3yrs3Y

 @94BH9J2Peace and Freedom from California  answered…3yrs3Y

No, but it needs to be reformed so that it represents the current population

 @93LG8TC from Minnesota  answered…3yrs3Y

The outcome of alternatives should be researched, the voters should be informed and it should be placed on the national ballot before anything in place is abolished.

 @938W8H4Transhumanist from Ohio  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8XMF76RPeace and Freedom from Alaska  answered…4yrs4Y

No. Proof of citizenship, and ID must be provided. No loop holes, and no illegal immigrants, no felon voters, no dead voters, re-count and hold facilities accountable for secure voting practices.

 @8XGKNRJPeace and Freedom from North Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

We should do the ranking system. Each section of the state gets to vote and majority wins for that state. So if North Carolina had 4 votes for blue and 3 votes for red, North Carolina would have one blue point towards the election.

 @8WYW37KPeace and Freedom from Virginia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8WPNCM7Peace and Freedom from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

I have mixed feelings about it because like it can change the whole course of an election despite what all the people think.

 @schnettlerPeace and Freedom from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

This is a very difficult question. I think when the electoral college works it hurts one party. For example, if the Maricopa County of Arizona votes for the Republican candidate, however the elector that corresponds to that county wants to vote for the Democrat, they can and vice versa; this does hurt one party and doesn't make the people's vote matter. When it doesn't do anything/work, it doesn't really have an effect on the election. If all of the electors vote accordingly to their states, then it does not sway the way of the election. I do think more people might vote if we abolished it, but it is in place to try to protect us from a dictator. all in all, I am undecided.

 @8WCQYVQ from South Carolina  answered…4yrs4Y

 @mayrod19Peace and Freedom from Minnesota  answered…4yrs4Y

I feel like the electoral vote could be very biased as well and this would only create a higher division. But also I don't feel confident to say we should switch to popular vote because like myself, some cannot vote and that would not include them or many points of views.

 @8W7RHCPPeace and Freedom from Texas  answered…4yrs4Y
