No, because (a) there is little evidence that voter fraud even exists, and (b) this will disadvantage those who do not have the resources to obtain one. I think every citizen should automatically be registered on their 18th birthday

 @9HN26MN from Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

Well if someone is that suspicious why allow them to vote if you believe they are lying call authorities

 @9DBL3BGGreen from Maine  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but it must be provided by state government for free at any DMV or Town/City Hall and only display a photo and name, date of birth, declared town/city, state, a mailing address, and citizenship status / right to vote - no weight, height, gender, or residence address. It should be good for at least 5 years and be in a vertical orientation to differentiate from a driver's license

 @8RMBMKP from Maine  answered…4yrs4Y

we should audit the social security offices to ensure only legal citizens are getting social security cards and drivers licenses first then yes i see no reason why showing a photo Id would be a bad thing. In small towns it seems pointless but in major cities with millions of people a photo id should be required and people should have to show up and vote on the day of election ONLY. absentee ballots should also be available but thats it, no other mail in voting or early voting.

 @9K8SB68 from Maine  answered…1yr1Y

a national photo ID should be required only if the government could provide such IDs to everyone for free and quickly. Otherwise, it would essentially be a poll-tax / literacy test and would be used to suppress voting.

1000% YES! Otherwise, why care about other countries interfering in our elections?

If required, only if a free and easy state-provided ID offered annually to all residents eligible to vote

 @96489HQ from Maine  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but IDs should be free and easily accessible for all electorate members.

 @95GMF74 from Maine  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but everyone over the age of 18 should be automatically registered and given an ID free of charge

 @93S3DRV from Maine  answered…3yrs3Y

If a photo ID is required to vote, then the fees for this should be provided by the state requiring it.

 @8WF62FNReform from Maine  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but also allow voters to show a birth certificate or a Social Security card or any other government documentation that proves they are a citizen if they don’t have a driver’s license because they live in the city or are low income earners.

 @8WDRTRY from Maine  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, it should be required unless there is a certain reason why they don’t have it.

 @8WBHKLXDemocrat from Maine  answered…4yrs4Y

As draft registration is required for all males upon turning 18, voter registration for everyone should be automatic when turning 18. A voter photo ID, if required, should be paid by the requiring entity to avoid unfunded mandates.

Yes, but a long as it is not the only option a voter has to prove their identity or register to vote.

 @8RVQKMY from Maine  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8LZBFFG from Maine  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes because than if people try to vote twice cause the masks they can’t because they might remember what you look like

 @8FTZZLN from Maine  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and maybe even go further into security, because they are probably a bunch of frauds.

 @8DXY5YXLibertarian from Maine  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8MF2HYV from Maine  answered…5yrs5Y

yes, but legal IDs should be completely free to acquire and update and we make all states same-day registration.

 @B3LFQBT from Maine  answered…4mos4MO

No, if the person who is voting has turned 18 and they know what they want then they shouldn't have to provide photo evidence unless the people watching over the voting are suspicious of the individual.
