Yes, but also no. It will prevent voter fraud, but it will also be a disadvantage to anyone that is 18+ who don't have the resources to obtain one.

 @B24JRDQIndependent from Kentucky  answered…7mos7MO

no if laws are passed that say people can vote under the age of 18 and even in some countries its 16 if the 24th amended was passed in there country then they shouldn't have ti show id when going to vote

 @9ZMG487No Labels from Kentucky  answered…8mos8MO

You have to have an id to do pretty much anything in the USA why would voting be any different. You must have an id to vote, provide proof you are a us citizen.

 @9XNKP3N  from Kentucky  answered…8mos8MO

Automatically enroll all citizens to vote at 18. Have students practice the process at 17. Some form of identification should be required, but not limited to ID.

 @9VBHDVVRepublican from Kentucky  answered…9mos9MO

yes because it could help with fraud and people using other identities to vote just because they like one representative over the other so they could have more votes.

 @9TKHL7Z from Kentucky  answered…10mos10MO

Only if the costs of getting a photo ID (and copy of birth certificate, etc.) are totally free so it doesn't amount to an unconstitutional poll tax.

 @9S8Z8H8 from Kentucky  answered…11mos11MO

If you see their ID there is less chance of them cheating because you know they are only voting once.

 @9RJSLWB from Kentucky  answered…11mos11MO

Some kind of ID should be required but the options should be broad and easily accessible and free for all.

 @9RGRW69Democrat from Kentucky  answered…12mos12MO

Yes, but obtaining an ID and the documents necessary to obtain an ID should be free and every US born citizen should be registered automatically at 18

 @9QZD5PR from Kentucky  answered…12mos12MO

Yes, It will ensure legal citizens are voting which then records will show if that individual voted in a current election

 @9QRXZD3 from Kentucky  answered…12mos12MO

No, but add a system that verifies voter identities without disadvantaging those without resources to obtain said verification

 @9P8GSFV from Kentucky  answered…1yr1Y

Yes as long as each state provides the option of an id card that meets the requirements of free of charge

 @9KN96BR from Kentucky  answered…1yr1Y

The voting system needs people who can confirm when they were born, and that they are legal US citizens. If Illegal imigrants can walk in, and have the deciding vote on who gets elected, while not even being on a visa. Let Citizens vote for their future leaders, who will better their own view on society.

 @9K3KCKP from Kentucky  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, this will lower all active voter fraud and prove a person is an adult to vote, as some pass looking like adults but aren't.

 @9JYVRHSDemocrat from Kentucky  answered…1yr1Y

Yes, but each person cannot have ID and who votes should get their photo taken while there as their ID.

 @9JW9KD3 from Kentucky  answered…1yr1Y

Automatically register but also don't require incase people can't obtain one, make ID free of charge

 @9HDKR6WRepublican from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9H495WH  from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but there should be a way to get them for free. Also everyone should be automatically registered to vote.

The federal government should provide all citizens with a free, national ID given to them by mail. This will be paid for entirely by the federal government and will help incentivize and inspire more people to go out and vote in our elections.

 @9D5J9XSCommunist from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

Automatically register everyone to vote at 18 and require some valid form of ID in any shape or form

 @9B2W74B from Kentucky  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but should at least provide some form of Government document on if they're over 18 or not.

 @966RG7T from Kentucky  answered…3yrs3Y

No--because: all the evidence suggests there is very little voter fraud; voter id laws disadvantage people who do not have resources to get that id (especially as what is usually required is a GOVERNMENT id). An easy, fair, and permanent solution would be to automatically register people when they turn 18

 @95XB9PX from Kentucky  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only for people who have been convicted of a federal crime or are a suspicious POI. (Person of interest.)

 @8XJPNLQ from Kentucky  answered…4yrs4Y

Each individual state should decide if a photo id should be required to vote.

 @8XH6M3K from Kentucky  answered…4yrs4Y

I do not believe evidence for widespread voter fraud exists, but I believe a voter must be expected to prove their identity, if not by photo, then by some other method. Make photo IDs free and easy to obtain, perhaps by house visit.

 @8VJWV4B from Kentucky  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but the decision should be made at the state level and not the federal level

 @8VJ2H5H from Kentucky  answered…4yrs4Y

No, because while this may prevent voter fraud there is little evidence to support that it is very common at all and it wil disadvantage those who don't have the resources to obtain and ID.

 @8VHB3C9 from Kentucky  answered…4yrs4Y
