The recreational use of cannabis has been legalized in 19 U.S. states and Washington D.C. Another 12 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands have decriminalized its use. Commercial distribution of cannabis has been legalized in all jurisdictions where possession has been legalized, except for D.C. Personal cultivation for recreational use is allowed in all of these jurisdictions except for Washington State and New Jersey. Proponents argue that marijuana sales bring in tax revenue for states and cut down on non-violent drug incarcerations. Opponents argue that marijuana is a powerful recreational drug that can lead to addiction and psychosis.

For people that medically need it yes. It has fewer negative effects than alcohol. It is not a drug used to oppress the people, so I say yes personally.
@9NXFDC6Constitution 1yr1Y
States have the right to legislate as they will on this issue – the federal government should not be involved. That being said, I personally oppose it.
@9KZ4VDRConstitution 1yr1Y
Yes, and regulate all the entities that have their fingers in the financial pie and bring it down to something reasonable like any other product.
@9LGT87DConstitution1yr1Y
Yes, but the moment the user becomes an offender or a reason an accident happens then arrest them for being under the influence.
@9DC9TVCConstitution2yrs2Y
Yes, but only marijuana. No other drugs because they are more dangerous.
@9D5XJ3TConstitution2yrs2Y
No, but CBD should be the exception.
@9ZDDJXSConstitution 8mos8MO
, yes, and immediately release anyone serving time or probation solely for personal drug use offenses Yes, and legalize, tax, and regulate marijuana instead of criminalizing it
@9FQNDHRConstitution2yrs2Y
State governments should be allowed to determine whether marijuana and other naturally growing narcotics are legal in their states
@9CYFMVP2yrs2Y
Yes; release anyone currently serving time solely for non hard drug-related offenses. It should be legalized, taxed, & regulated like tobacco & alcohol.
@9BXLFGR2yrs2Y
I prefer to decriminalize all plants... I don't want it "legalized" then it will get taxed
@9B5BV9ZConstitution2yrs2Y
Phased legalization yes. But we need to be prepared for the social impact just like Alcoholism which is often used as an escape. We also need to way to identify intoxication to prevent death and danger on the road and when working. We also need to create a new level of abues programs and education. We could phase in reducing prison population related to Pot, however a 3rd party should be included since a dealer involved in theft or death that has pleaded down to possesion shoul dnot be in the same catagory as a guys busted with it in his possession.
@99G3SFP2yrs2Y
Yes but no public drug use or abandoning your duties to your children or others in your care at home.

@926PQWSConstitution3yrs3Y

@8ZZMSPW3yrs3Y
Yes, but just like alcohol use, an individual should be held accountable for their actions resulting from Marijuana use
@8ZF5VSQConstitution3yrs3Y

@82BNLG9Constitution4yrs4Y
No, but only penalize drug dealers. HEAVILY
@8XJ8DLZConstitution4yrs4Y
Yes, any naturally occurring "drug" (i.e. peyote, weed, etc) should be decriminalized. Manufactured "drugs" such as meth and crack should be classified as poisons with the selling and distribution of such treated as an attempt to physically harm another individual.
Yes, and release marijuana related inmates and retroactively apply the new law to those with records related to marijuana offenses and make way to plan rehabilitation for those with other drug offenses.
@nmhoskinsConstitution4yrs4Y
This is a state-by-state issue to be resolved by the states, and not the federal government. The states would be stupid to make medical marijuana illegal though.
@8SBZKPBConstitution4yrs4Y
Yes because capitalism it would be great for the economy, but I'm against taxing it because it is edible.
@8RTH5PNConstitution4yrs4Y

Yes, because if people want to use that would be their choice and employers would be looking for employees that dont use
@8R6D8TP4yrs4Y
Medical marijuana should only be given to those who have a medical license and not given to those who don't need it. A verified doctor's note must be shown to obtain a medical marijuana
@8QQN4TH4yrs4Y
YES. It is medically useful, less dangerous than alcohol or cigarettes, and therapeutic recreationally. The regulations and high taxation of marijuana is CRIMINAL and should STOP immediately, and all who were convicted of having, using, or even selling marijuana should be released immediately.
@8Q8KWDJ4yrs4Y

@8PJ7RZG5yrs5Y
Yes, for medical use. Recreational should not be commercialized, similar to how Washing DC does it.
@8MQ452T5yrs5Y
Yes, and legalize drug use and pour the money that was spent on criminalization into wage grants, counseling, and health services. Drug dealing still criminal.

All drugs should be legalized / if you use without Dr issue than employers do not have to hire you insurance does not have to cover you
@8H7FXF3Constitution5yrs5Y

@9C2Z3CWConstitution2yrs2Y

@9BDZ9BQRepublican2yrs2Y
It should be up to the states. The federal government should play no part in it.
@98V8PXT2yrs2Y
I believe that it should be legal, but penalties should be very harsh relating to crimes while using Marijuana.
@98PVLG3Libertarian2yrs2Y
No, not until a roadside DUI test is available.
@98D3VHBConstitution3yrs3Y
Yes but only for medical not recreational
@97KXWHG3yrs3Y
no because drugs ruin people
@96ZZRYMConstitution3yrs3Y
