Recent U.N. interventions include the Sri Lankan civil war in 2009 and the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. The U.S. joined the U.N. as a founding member in 1945. The U.S. is the largest financial contributor to the UN and contributes more than $11.5 billion or 25% of its total budget annually.

The UN does nothing to help brown countries... we seen this in Rwanda.. disgusted.
@B4JBLVY3mos3MO
I think there should be some reform in the UN and should probably dial back some of the ost that is going to it or get more sway then we have now
@robsmckLibertarian 9mos9MO
Yes, but require other members to revise their contributions to be equal percentage-wise so everyone has more responsibility for the world's safety.
@9M5VVMC1yr1Y
No, but the veto powers and benefits we maintain from being on the security council should be removed.
@9LDXYT31yr1Y
Yes, but be allowed less power over other countries in the U.N, and use the peacekeeping forces to assist countries going through turmoil or ones that have genocides going on
@9F338WL2yrs2Y
Everyone should leave the UN as it is a flawed organization
@9DW6BCW2yrs2Y
Yes, but remove terrorist states like China and Russia from the Security Council.
@96NBGS63yrs3Y
Yes but we should reduce the amount we are paying for as well as put good foreign policy to do actual good with un peacekeeping troops
Yes, but only if the United Nations is abolished and replaced with a more equitable organization.
@92NZ35XConstitution3yrs3Y
If the U.N. is actually going to be put to good use, then yes. If not what's the point of having it
@928RN5D3yrs3Y
Yes, but scale back our current involvement and remove U.N. headquarters from the U.S.
@8Z2QWJS3yrs3Y
If it doesn't affect the country or others in a negative way, then yes, but if not then no.
@8XZ8FMT4yrs4Y
tbh i dont understand this much
@8XY8KB94yrs4Y
Yes, we should remain in the United Nations, however I think our spending and efforts should be scaled back a bit to ensure that we are still taking care of our own country and our needs, because we cannot help others if we are not in a position to do so.
@8XQPJDP4yrs4Y
Yes, but scale back our current financial contributions.
@8X5DTCY4yrs4Y
The U.S should remain in the United Nations and we should help the militaries' of countries that we are allies with
@8X4XRFLRepublican4yrs4Y
stay in the UN but contribute no more than any other countries
@8X2HTB24yrs4Y
Does not matter to me, however the UN should be changed to where every country has equal representation.
@8WYNJSS4yrs4Y
@8WSRSGL4yrs4Y
The united nations is useless. It doesnt protect the rights of infringed.
@8WH9GHB4yrs4Y
Yes, but keep close track of how much money the U.S. annually contributes.
@8VYM64H4yrs4Y
i don't feel like i know enough to make a choice
@8RVNMQF4yrs4Y
Yes, but scale back a little more, keeping our core beliefs and interests as the U.S
@8RTDBKDRepublican4yrs4Y
Yes, to prevent China from seizing the reigns of the U.N. and using it to further their foreign goals.
@8RRY9KL4yrs4Y
Yes, to prevent China from taking control over the U.N.
@8RRW7S64yrs4Y
Yes, but I don’t like it. As is, it’s an ineffective organization with a human rights violator on the head of its security council. All of the major powers have large power there, so any regulation is essentially meaningless. Regardless, it overs too many connections and a say on what’s going on, so strategically speaking, we should stay.
@8RPNBQF4yrs4Y
get rid of the current UN and replace it with something that works
@8HFX5FG5yrs5Y
No, unless the UN focuses solely on protecting the environment because it is absolute trash at protecting world peace efficiently.
@8GWHG865yrs5Y
Yes, but cut funding and Remove the U.N. Headquarters from the U.S.
@9CJ3RTG2yrs2Y
If the UN supports self determination then why are they controlling other nations. We should along with all other nations dissolve the UN or heavily decrease its power.
@9C7TGZM2yrs2Y
For now maybe but hopefully I will find a strong enough organization to combat it.
@9C6N4NX2yrs2Y
If its for the greater good of the President and this great nation
@9C5Z4FV2yrs2Y
for the greater good of this great nations leader then yes but if not than no.
@9C5MPVN2yrs2Y
only if its a benificial dicision for the United States and the nations leader
@9C59XYG2yrs2Y
if it is the best dicision for the president
@9C59XYG2yrs2Y
depends on whats in it for me.
@9B3KMFF2yrs2Y
The US can stay if they want, but the UN barely does anything anymore it was ore helpful back then but now, it's just sad
@99XMMW62yrs2Y
I think the UN is a corrupt system that is easily able to prevent change because of Russia's veto vote in the security council. The west no longer needs the UN to retain its power and it is a way for Russia and China to keep control.
@99WGWFD2yrs2Y
Yes, but the U.N. needs to actually act on serious issues and provide help when they say they're gonna help
@8WHJC8G4yrs4Y
Yes, but possible reduce how much money the U.S. annually contributes if necessary.
