In 2014 the U.S. Senate blocked the Paycheck Fairness Act which would make it illegal for employers to pay unequal wages to men and women who perform the same work. The goals of the act were to make wages more transparent, require employers to prove that wage discrepancies are tied to legitimate business qualifications and not gender and prohibiting companies from taking retaliatory action against employees who raise concerns about gender-based wage discrimination. Opponents argue that studies which show pay gaps don’t take into account women who take jobs that are more family-friendl…

No, the salary should depend on how much they benefit the company,for example in some jobs where it requires lifting heavy items a man would be more cabale of doing that certain job because they are naturally stronger than most woman .
@9HF68FM2yrs2Y
Other things may very well affect the outcome such as education and experience, they should pay based on how the job is done, how efficiently, but for the sake of fixed pay, yes they should be paid the same.
@9G9R2762yrs2Y
I believe that if a man and a women are doing the same amount of work for the same job then they should be paid the same.
@9F2Z7K62yrs2Y
Gender issues should not be a big deal. People should be paid based on their titles and the quality of their work.
@9DMG3V82yrs2Y
Yes, it is how the law works after all.
You should be payed based on your effort regardless of race or gender
@9BMS8PVRepublican2yrs2Y
I believe you should be paid based off your position regardless of age or gender
@953GT3R3yrs3Y
This depends on experience, education and most importantly, performance. Regardless of sex, an individual should be fairly paid based on their performance.
@94BHMC83yrs3Y
men and women should get paid the same if they perform the job at the same rate
@935YS79Republican3yrs3Y
Depends on the job and stituation if it's more hard labor men should be paid more
@92QGT5V3yrs3Y
It should be by the work the provide and works the most.
@92L4QSY3yrs3Y
in my opinion depending on the type of job and such as in like no if its a job that depends on how much work and stuff and if the man does less work than the women the women should be paid more and visaversa and yes if the job is just like a job that doesnt really require that like an hourly job.
@8ZPMLH63yrs3Y
Yes, as long as variables such as education, experience, and tenure are also used to determine pay
@8XZRXLP4yrs4Y
No, it should be up to the individual businesses based on experience.
@8X84Q24Independent4yrs4Y
It really depends on overall skill and background, not just gender
@8VFWGK34yrs4Y
If you are qualified and do the same thing you should get paid the same amount. Tú you can’t cry women to get paid more
@8TSSC8Q4yrs4Y
In some ways yes but there also needs to be competitive wages and there are too many factors that determine a salary. It really is up to the business to do so.
@8T5D42Z4yrs4Y
Companies should be required to publish their employee salaries per fiscal year so workers can negotiate with their bosses
@8HR674Z5yrs5Y
No, because the 1963 Equal Pay act is enough, private business should not be forced to how to pay their employees, and the wage gap is a myth debunked multiple times.
@8D6Y5L95yrs5Y
In a perfect world, we would have a blinded process for determining pay. Pay equality should be required provided the determination of pay (e.g. skills, experiences, performance) are equally used to limit pay for both men and women. There should not be an across the board raise given to women that ignores performance. Likewise, we need to address gender biases in pay determination such as male privilege
@9D2MYMWProgressive2yrs2Y
Yes, and all monetary structures should adapt to suit a 21st century environment. Men are no longer solely providers and women are no longer solely caregivers. All types of families should be given an opportunity to thrive.
@99W37TD2yrs2Y
No, irrelevant of sex, efficiency and results should determine whether men are payed more than women or vice versa
@99QD8752yrs2Y
Regardless of if its a man or a woman whoever is doing the better job should get paid more
@96YLYTD3yrs3Y
@9667BHC3yrs3Y
Everyone should be paid equally
@93KBJN23yrs3Y
Wages should be based on performance not gender. If a woman performs equally as well as a man then yes they should be paid the same. Either way this is up to private businesses not the government.
@8VGD8W94yrs4Y
No, the pay should be equal to the work and qualifications a person has, regardless of gender.
@393SYH45yrs5Y
It depends. I know men and women that do the same work. But some men are more productive than women and some women are more productive then men.
