I support unions when they work for their people. I do not support unions backing political candidates

 @9YHSZ3B from Illinois  answered…7mos7MO

They hurt the economy a little, but make society much better for the average person than it would be in their absence.

 @9X8H5QR from Illinois  answered…7mos7MO

Help, however labor unions should be considered and regulated similarly to businesses and political/donor organizations

 @9SJSQYW from Illinois  answered…10mos10MO

Are neutral, they are harmful in the sense that they are not an economically efficient source of labor, but they are helpful because they enable many to be members of the middle class who otherwise wouldn’t be.

 @9R7R5MD from Illinois  answered…11mos11MO

They help to a degree. But many are racist as hell. And have historucally locked black people out of the trades.

 @9PSVCKMGreen from Illinois  answered…12mos12MO

I don’t really care because their primary purpose is to help the worker not “the economy” whatever that really means

 @9MGTSFR from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Help, but should always be voluntary and should not be allowed to collect funds from individuals who decline joining the union.

 @9JWL23PLibertarian from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Government employee unions should be banned. Private sector unions should be optional for the employees.

 @9J36S7C from Illinois  answered…1yr1Y

Help, labor unions should maintain and possibly improve relations between employee and employeers, union and employers

It doesn't matter how they affect the economy until all workers have rights, healthcare, fair wages, etc

 @93M3DHXGreen from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Help, they provide a voice for labor forces and an opportunity for fairness against large corporations whose interests are profit and not their workera

 @93GFNLG from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

 @missmia312 from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Help, but no one should be forced to join a union in order to secure a particular job.

Help and Hurt, in theory but have recently become corrupt and should have their powers limited.

 @jemicron from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

It is mixed. Some unions have been very helpful and continue to be so in making the work place safer and procuring fair wages for their members. Other unions have gone too far and restrict membership, have corrupt leaders, oppose necessary corporate modernization and make some firms uncompetitive. Professional groups like the AMA, ADA, and others also fall into this category. They all can be both good and evil

 @8Z7ZT5BPeace and Freedom from Illinois  answered…3yrs3Y

Still assessing. Campaigns should be publicly funded. No interest group should have supremacy advantages

 @8WG95XLGreen from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8W6FFRW from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Hurt, membership in an union should not be required, and should not affect the hours of work for non union workers

 @8W67SYX from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Against public unions and I believe no unions should be able to make any political contributions.

Let the unions be free to bargain for rights not the government and lessen restrictions on cooperations

 @8SZJ2RNDemocrat from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RVHZPF from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Hurt, some unions are necessary, but agree that they have become corrupt and are abusing their power against their members along with becoming more powerful and controlling government policy. Should ban political lobbying and donation for all union and businesses.

 @8QDLJZGPatriotic Peoples from Illinois  answered…4yrs4Y

Hurt. I believe in the right to work. If you are able and available then you should be employed. I also believe you should be compensated fairly as long as you are qualified and do your job per job title and description.

Labor unions help the economy, but they should not be allowed to engage in partisan politics, except with the unanimous consent of all of their members.

 @9TDHSY2 from Illinois  answered…9mos9MO

It truly depends on the union and circumstance. Some are absolutely essential and some are corrosive. And many are neither.
