Teachers need guns just in case a shooter comes into school and they need to protect themselves and the students.

 @B8XNR33 from California  commented…5mos5MO

I don't think that teachers NEED guns but if there is safety regulations to it I think that at least a couple pf teachers should be allowed to carry guns.

Teachers need guns to protect us Incase we don't have first responders get here in time

 @B8XPJFY from Utah  disagreed…5mos5MO

Teachers need to have the ability to have a firearm in their classroom in case of an emergency. It should not be a requirement, but optional if wanted.

 @B8VKDSK from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

I believe that schools should have a form of safety to prevent school shootings and without some sort of police presence more shooting might occur.

 @B8XWN4K  from Nevada  disagreed…5mos5MO

Teachers should be allowed to have a weapon locked away where no one can reach and only the teacher in case of a serious emergency like a shooter in the school to protect the students. One dead horrible person is better than many dead children and teens.

 @B8XZ2XC from California  agreed…5mos5MO

I agree. No weapon should be allowed in school, especially guns. Nobody should feel threatened or scared because you never know when a student or teacher could break and end up hurting someone.

 @B8XSMS6 from Delaware  agreed…5mos5MO

From my perspective, I strongly believe that the statement is right, teachers shouldn't bring any type of weapons, especially in school, because school should make us feel safe, not scared. It's an environment surrounded by kids and teenagers, it's a place where we learn good, valuable things.

I agree with this text, it is important to keep schools gun free because it may be used against those inside the building.

 @B8X348V from New York  agreed…6mos6MO

When kids enter school, they should feel at peace knowing they're in a safe environment. If teachers are armed then it'll cause unnecessary chaos. Teachers should allow people who know how to operate such weapons to continue doing their job.

 @B8VZFWW from Iowa  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree with this as well. I feel like nowadays students and teachers don't know how to control their temper, so what if it's a situation where a teacher gets really angry at a student to the point where they can't keep calm, they'll be able to have easy access to the gun, and on the students side if a student knows where the teacher keeps the gun that's also easy access.

 @B8VTN5KPeace and Freedom from Delaware  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree. Schools are for teaching and education, there should be no need for firearms in the building, especially around children.

 @B8VLZGH from California  agreed…6mos6MO

Having a gun in any environment inherently makes that environment more dangerous. There are too many variables in a classroom and it would inevitably lead to more issues in the classroom.

 @B8VLSS6 from Hawaii  agreed…6mos6MO

Do you think arming teachers increases safety, decreases safety, or is too risky/complex to support?

 @B8VKR2F from Nevada  agreed…6mos6MO

i agree as teachers have school police amongst other things to protect themselves, they have no need to be armed. instead, we need to have a gun reform and help prevent school shootings.

 @B8VJZBZ from California  agreed…6mos6MO

It can cause more harm than good. Preventing guns from being in schools in the first place will have less deaths then having them in order to protect.

 @B8VJR57 from California  agreed…6mos6MO

This comment is speaking the truth and how it truly should be, if you give weapons to teachers, yeah they will be safer, but it doesn't stop the chances of a shooting still happening, it now just means more people have the chance of getting hurt.

 @B8XHZ8VLibertarian from Maryland  disagreed…6mos6MO

arming teachers does not increase safety and instead introduces significant risks, including accidental shootings, misidentification of armed personnel by law enforcement, and a detrimental impact on the school environment.
