I think abortion should be allowed. What if someone was raped, and didn't want to be reminded of what happened to them?

Abortions can be a traumatic experience, but giving birth can also be one. This is given as an option, meaning that person can decide whether to give birth and give the child up for adoption or have the abortion. Think as if it were a very young girl who just hit puberty, they cannot physically take on giving birth to a baby and this young age could lead to health problems in the future if there is no action taken, that is why there is a choice.

Women often get raped and pregnant by the most evil person. They deserve a chance to abort a baby who hasn't even gained its consciousness yet and wont feel pain if done quickly. Not all life is needed. It's a woman's body not a mans to say anything. Most of the time orphan children stay in the orphan, not everyone wants a child. We are already an overpopulated race and some people can't care for a child being too poor or often not responsible enough.

I feel like there should be a restriction, like you will be allowed to abort if you or the baby might die, or if it was a rape outcome, but not if they just don't want it.

As someone who is adopted, I was put into foster care at 2 months old due to my family being unable to take care of me; they simply didn't have the tools. Due to that, I went to many different families within the span of 2 years. It is the woman's body, it is the woman's choice. Also, it's a fetus, not a baby. It isn't defined as "living" until much later during the process, at which point it is nearly impossible to abort.

abortion isnt murder, if you count it as murder then u should count guys doing there nasty stuff as murder too

you should always have the right to your body regardless of what has happened. if the person isn't in the position to have a child they shouldn't have it and if rape has occurred it should be an option to not raise something that is apposed from something sop traumatic.

I agree. Biology tells us that life starts the moment sperm fertilizes an egg and a new human is created. But I feel there are exceptions when it comes to abortion, like miscarriages, rape, incest, and if the mother's life is in danger. If none of the options are a good reason to get an abortion, then so many families are on a waitlist to adopt a child.

No, you had sex and you knew the risks of it, even of you used protection you still know the risks of it still happening. And of you weren’t teacher that’s bad on our education system.

We as women fought for our rights for over 100 years, we fought vigorously for years to have rights over our own bodies, to be seen as more than objects. The 9th amendment made abortion legal in 1973, (up to the point of vitality.) Simply put, the facts of the matter are that it is simply not a human until this point (around the 11th week of pregnancy.) I believe women should have that choice. Whether the baby is there as a cause of rape or not. "But regardless, abortion is still murder and an evil sin."You cannot force your religious beliefs onto people, and you cannot force your…  Read more

Orphanages are underfunded and overcrowded, my body my choice is not a problem but a statement. Just as someone wouldn't want a pole through their chest because they feel it doesn't belong the same goes for abortion, if a pregnancy isn't wanted and their is not an absolute promise that the unwanted child will have a good life if carried to term then why restrict the freedom to our bodies. Not only that but it's only a females body, why not have the same restriction onto men? Because men don't carry the life, they only give it even when it's unwanted and then they dictate whether or not you have this unwanted child or get to have an abortion. Control over ones body should never be allowed unless it will be implemented world wide to all genders. Make It equal or don't make it at all.

While it's understandable to value potential life, labeling abortion as "murder" ignores the complex medical, ethical, and emotional realities that women face. Pregnancy dramatically affects a person's body, health, and future, and forcing someone to continue a pregnancy, especially caused from rape, can cause lasting trauma. Orphanages do not solve the issue of bodily autonomy or the emotional and physical toll of unwanted pregnancy. The right to choose allows individuals to make deeply personal decisions based on their own circumstances, not the governments or society's moral belief.

Fetuses aren't children they're a collection of cells that, if viable, can become children. It's not murder if it's not a being yet. This argument is like saying an egg and a chicken breast are the same thing... They're not.

The mention of sin also indicates this person's personal political beliefs are religious in nature. We have a separation of church and state. The second you bring religion into your political beliefs is the second your political beliefs become invalid in the United States of America. Science points to pro-choice.
