Asian Nations Surge in Global Passport Power as US and UK Slide

The latest Henley Passport Index reveals a major shift in global travel freedom, with Asian countries—especially Singapore—dominating the rankings.

Singapore retains the top spot, offering its citizens visa-free access to 193 destinations, while Japan and South Korea also rank highly. Meanwhile, traditional Western leaders like the US and UK continue to fall, now ranking 10th and 6th respectively. India made the largest leap, climbing eight spots to 77th place, granting its citizens visa-free access to 59 countries.

The rankings highlight a growing trend: global mobility is increasingly led by Asia, challenging the long-standing dominance of Western passports.
