Typhoon Wipha Wreaks Havoc Across Asia: Flights Canceled, Cities Flooded, and Millions Disrupted

Typhoon Wipha has battered several Asian countries, including Hong Kong, southern China, Vietnam, and the Philippines, causing widespread disruption.

The storm brought hurricane-force winds, torrential rain, and severe flooding, leading to the cancellation of hundreds of flights and the closure of airports and public transport systems. Authorities in Vietnam and China placed coastal regions on emergency alert, warning of flash floods and landslides as rainfall reached record levels in some areas. Hong Kong issued its highest storm warning, with thousands stranded at the airport and dozens injured by toppled trees and debris.

As Wipha weakened to a tropical storm, its remnants continued to threaten Southeast Asia with heavy rains and the risk of further flooding.
