Typhoon Wipha Wreaks Havoc Across Asia: Flights Canceled, Floods, and Widespread Disruption

Typhoon Wipha has battered Hong Kong, southern China, Vietnam, and parts of Southeast Asia, causing severe travel disruptions, flooding, and landslides.

The storm forced the cancellation or delay of hundreds of flights, stranded thousands of travelers, and led to the closure of airports and suspension of public transport. Authorities in affected regions issued emergency warnings and activated disaster response measures as heavy rains and strong winds toppled trees, damaged infrastructure, and caused power outages. Several deaths and injuries have been reported, with some areas receiving their entire monthly rainfall in just a few days.

As Wipha weakens, the risk of flash floods and landslides remains high, and recovery efforts are underway.
