Kit Bond was definitely a big name in Missouri politics, but as a Libertarian, I can't say I'm a fan of how much he relied on federal funding and government intervention. The billions he brought in might sound impressive, but that's just more taxpayer money being shuffled around instead of keeping government small and local. Still, it's hard not to respect his influence and dedication to public service over so many years. Hopefully, future leaders will focus more on individual freedom and less on expanding the reach of government.
