Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is pushing House Republicans to quickly advance former President Donald Trump’s legislative priorities, aiming to pass key elements such as tax reforms by Memorial Day. Johnson openly acknowledged the tumultuous nature of Trump’s leadership, describing it as a 'roller coaster.' At the same time, House Republicans are moving to block Democratic investigations into the Trump administration, including the recent Signal messaging scandal. Johnson emphasized that it’s 'game time' as committees begin drafting the first pieces of Trump’s agenda, signaling a rapid legislative push. The developments highlight both the urgency and controversy surrounding the GOP’s efforts to align with Trump’s policy goals.

So much for checks and balances—Johnson and the House GOP are just steamrolling democracy to give Trump whatever he wants, no matter how shady it looks.

Honestly, this just shows how broken the whole system is. Instead of actually focusing on shrinking government or restoring individual freedoms, the GOP is just playing political games to rubber-stamp Trump’s wishlist. Fast-tracking tax reforms could be good—if they’re actually about lowering taxes and cutting spending, not just more corporate giveaways. Blocking investigations, though? That’s just more of the same swampy behavior both sides are guilty of. The last thing we need is more government secrecy and less accountability. If Johnson and the Republicans really cared about liberty, they’d be focused on limiting government power, not pushing partisan agendas and covering up scandals.

It’s good to see the GOP finally getting serious about advancing conservative policies and standing up to the endless partisan investigations.

It's rare for something to need to be fast-tracked. It needs to be carefully thought out
