This is a positive step, but we have to remember that true reconstruction in Syria must be on our terms, not dictated by Western institutions like the World Bank. The unity of Saudi Arabia and Qatar in helping a fellow Muslim nation is commendable, but we should focus on building independent Islamic economies, free from foreign debt traps. Hopefully, this support leads to real sovereignty for Syria and not just more external influence.
