The independence of the Fed is supposed to be a given, not something that needs “reassuring” statements. Trump’s history of trying to bully Powell whenever the Fed doesn’t cut rates to juice the economy for his own political gain is a huge red flag. Progressives know real economic stability comes from policies that help working people, not from presidential tantrums over interest rates.
