Honestly, this feels like one of those times where politics might be getting in the way of common sense

If a storm causes millions in damages and fatalities, it seems like it should qualify for federal help, regardless of which party’s in charge. That said, I get that FEMA has guidelines, and maybe they’re trying to stick to them to avoid setting tricky precedents. Still, disaster relief should be about helping people, not scoring political points. Hopefully the appeal leads to a more balanced outcome that actually helps the folks on the ground.
