The U.S. House of Representatives, led by Republicans, has passed a bill that would restrict federal district judges from issuing nationwide injunctions.
These injunctions have been used in recent years to block major policies, particularly during the Trump administration. Supporters of the bill argue that a single judge should not have the power to halt federal actions across the entire country. Critics, however, say the bill undermines judicial oversight and could limit checks on executive power.
The legislation passed largely along party lines and reflects ongoing tensions between the judiciary and the executive branch.

Honestly, this feels like a step in the wrong direction. Limiting the judiciary’s ability to check federal power just concentrates more authority in Washington, and that’s the last thing we need. One judge halting a sweeping federal policy might be the only thing standing between us and government overreach. I’d rather see decentralization across the board, not more top-down control.
So now Republicans are all about limiting judicial power—funny how they only care when it’s not working in their favor. This is just another way to weaken checks and balances so they can push extreme policies without accountability.
