This is exactly the kind of bureaucratic overreach that makes government agencies so frustrating

A harmless tourist gets locked up for weeks over a paperwork issue while actual criminals slip through the cracks. Maybe if immigration authorities focused on real threats instead of harassing visitors, we wouldn’t have these ridiculous situations.
