Standard convention is the attacking force loses more manpower, and that ratio is actually very favorable to Russia given the usual ratio. History has taught us that Russia is more than happy to throw bodies at a problem to overcome it. I think it's perfectly plausible.

The Russians just send waves of soldiers. Over the summer it was regularly reported they were taking 50k casualties every 4 weeks.

1. It’s easier to defend than attack. 2. The russian strategy hasn’t changed they still do wave tactics. 3. The russians don’t care about a majority of their enlisted (in fact they’d rather have them die so they don’t have to pay them big enlistment bonuses they promised)
