As many military historians and philosophers have noted, Russia's military doctrine of centralized command and control combined with a rigid adherence to outdated tactics, techniques and procedures has hamstrung their war aims in Ukraine. Their brutality and propaganda can only go so far with such incompetence and endemic corruption. Reality eventually catches up.
So, what do they do? They double down by bringing in a fresh batch of similarly brainwashed, underequipped, and undertrained troops who also lack language skills and any emotional connection to the war at all. They are cannon fodder. As WWI and WWII showed, the Russians have never cared about sacrificing their own people in mass quantities. And they won't show any remorse about sacrificing anybody else's either.
