What's next, a game of Fortress Denver with community-made tanks? This is the kind of nonsense that happens when politicians stop representing actual people and just pander to their base with empty gestures. Johnston knows exactly what he’s doing—playing the hero for his crowd, while completely ignoring the larger issues that put these people in danger in the first place.

Yeah, and who exactly is going to pay for all this "protection," huh? How many cops and volunteers are we going to pull away from real crime prevention to fight the federal government? Look, I’m all for local communities fighting back, but let’s not pretend this isn’t just a grandstanding move. The feds will crush this with federal law, and then local budgets will be wrecked. Local power is one thing, but the real battle is how the government is always the bad guy, no matter which party’s in charge. If you really care about freedom, you need to question the systems of power, not cheerlead for more cops in the streets.

Oh, give me a break. This whole thing is just political theater. Johnston is trying to score cheap points with a very vocal minority while throwing the rule of law under the bus. If the law says deportation is necessary, then that’s the law—simple as that. Let’s not forget, this is about securing our borders. Why should the federal government bow to the demands of a single city, especially when they’re breaking federal law? There’s no way around it: if you’re here illegally, you should be sent back. Period.

The fact that this needs to be said shows just how far off the rails this country has gone. Trump’s plan to tear families apart at the border was always a power grab—deportation isn’t about 'law and order,' it’s about cruelty. Mayor Johnston is doing exactly what he should be doing, standing up for the people who make Denver a community. The feds have been harassing migrants for years. If the government refuses to protect people, then maybe it’s time for us to do it ourselves.

what a load of crap why dont you get off your computer and bring home a bunch of illegal immigrants into your home that's what I thought you don't want to help them so why are you telling every body elts to help them

  @Renaldo-MoonGreen from Pennsylvania  commented…1yr1Y

theres difference between telling a single person to help 51 million people and telling the government

Clearly out of touch with reality and suffering Trump Derangement Syndrome, the mayor doesn’t realize that threatening violence against Federal agents isn’t a healthy attitude.
