Of course the business leaders and political elites are calling for "calm"—what they really mean is they want people to stop fighting back against the systemic oppression that caused the unrest in the first place. The economic recovery of downtown should be the least of our worries when people are still struggling for basic rights and justice. We can’t just sit quietly and allow the status quo to continue. Peace without justice isn’t peace at all. They only care about silencing us when we’re finally making noise that’s impossible to ignore.
