This is just another example of the government trying to silence people who are proud of their heritage and beliefs.

proud of their heritage and beliefs.

Proud of what? Genocide? Hate? Bigotry? Killing random people on the street for "disloyalty"

That's all Nazis did and its nothing to be proud of.

While I strongly condemn Nazism, I worry that laws like this could set a dangerous precedent for limiting free speech and individual expression.

Honestly, it's about time we start cracking down on this kind of hateful behavior—there's no place for Nazi salutes in public spaces. Hopefully, this conviction sends a clear message that extremism won't be tolerated.

It’s good to see Victoria taking a strong stand against hate and extremism with this new law. Nazi symbols and gestures have no place in a society that values equality and human rights. It’s frustrating, though, that people like Hersant are still so committed to spreading hate, even when they’re held accountable. This conviction sends a clear message, but we definitely need to keep pushing for education and community programs to address the root causes of far-right extremism. Legal action is important, but changing hearts and minds is just as crucial.

Look, I don’t support this guy’s views at all, but banning certain gestures or speech is a slippery slope. Once the government starts deciding what’s "acceptable" expression, where does it end? People should be free to say and do dumb things, so long as they’re not physically hurting anyone.
