Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed another lawsuit against Harris County, targeting its revised 'Uplift Harris' guaranteed income program.
The program, aimed at providing financial assistance to low-income families through a lottery system, has faced legal challenges from Paxton, who argues it violates state law. Despite previous rulings from the Texas Supreme Court blocking the program, Harris County officials have continued to push for its implementation.
The legal battle highlights ongoing tensions between state and local governments over social welfare initiatives.

Ken Paxton is once again going after a program that’s trying to help low-income families get a little financial security—because apparently lifting people out of poverty is a bigger issue for him than actual corruption. It’s ridiculous that Texas leadership keeps going out of their way to block programs that directly support their most vulnerable citizens.
It's crazy how the government thinks it can just take people's money and hand it out to others through these ridiculous programs instead of letting folks keep what they earn.
