No, it’s just transphobia. Most athletes aren’t even trans and represent a small number. An even smaller number for professional athletes. We should focus more on safety and education in sports. Far more women are abused in sports and that is a bigger issue. More men face physical harm from contact sports and that is often under addressed. We have bigger issues

“Most athletes aren’t even trans and represent a small number”
Answer these two questions truthfully, then ask yourself if you think its fair:
1. In the past 5yrs, what percentage of female athletes are trans?
2. In the past 5yrs, what percentage of female athletic new-record holders are trans?

Allowing transgender athletes to participate with the group they've transitioned to is inherently wrong, as whether they are have transitioned or not, biological males possess advantages over biological females in most sports, taking away the fairness of the sport, and destroying the chances of biological women to win in their sports.

“I sure hope you have a source to back this up”
1. Muscle Mass and Strength
Men generally have greater muscle mass and strength due to higher levels of testosterone. This translates into advantages in sports requiring explosive power and strength, such as:

Sports is inherently unfair due to genetics, furthermore studies have shown at around 1-2 years trans women (not aware of trans male studies) have less strength proportional to a cis women. Furthermore there are no cases of trans women (nobody ever brings up trans men in this "debate" so I wont) dominating competition. I believe her last name was Thomas, did well locally but placed 7th in the state

In my opinion, the topic of transgender athletes does not reflect deep societal values. Men and women are equal, but physically different. Allowing a man to compete in women's sports is immensely unfair and should never be allowed.

Yes, if your born a girl, your a girl and if your born a boy, your a boy. If your a transgender and you identify as a girl you shouldn't get to perform and compete with real biological girls, its not fair, and it just means in my opinion that you can't compete with your own gender. Whatever is on your birth certificate when you were born is what you are.

In sports, there are biological advantages and disadvantages no matter what. We would not penalize tall men in the NBA in favor of those who are shorter. We also should not be legislating a population of less than 1.14% of the US. It is a waste of time and more importantly, just reflects transphobia. "About 1.14% of the nation’s adult population identifies as transgender, according to the Household Pulse Survey."

Of course not, trans women shouldn’t take place in the same category of biological women. and opposite gender vice versa. It’s not about being hateful but about the legitimate differences between men and women. No matter what they identify as they will still physically be whatever gender they were assigned at birth. At least just make their own damn category

I think hormone levels give us a clear physical indication if a person falls outside the “fair” range to compete. I don’t believe the government should regulate where a trans athlete is forced to compete. There sporting authorities along with scientific information allows the athletes to compete where they want as well as ensure they don’t have an unfair advantage.
@9V4JTP42yrs2Y
I believe that transgender athletes who have taken their hormones and fully transitioned fully deserve to play on the team they would like instead of the sex they were born. In my opinion after transitioning they are the gender they have chose for themselves and I would hope more people would accept that.

It has nothing to do with the fairness of the trans athletes. Most trans athletes place higher in their chosen gender league because they are biologically stronger than their opponents. But if you were to put them in their given gender league they would place much lower as they are performing with the same biological set-up as other competitors.
@9WPXT6VRepublican2yrs2Y
@9WRBGD2Progressive2yrs2Y
It does. It shows that one side sees transgender people in general as less than human and that they shouldn't be able to compete in the same gender as what they're trying to transition to. The debate is also centered around a small percent of an already small percentage of the population that it's incredibly targeted. Making laws around this issue is ridiculous.

Yes. Having transgender athletes compete in regular sports is a testament to equality, not fairness. I do not believe it is fair for a person who has biological advantages because of their birth gender (typically M-F trans in more physical sports) to compete against those who developed within their gender. We see this exemplified with Lia Thomas, Veronica Ivy, Chris Mosier, and more- trans athletes outperforming their non-trans competition in high level athletics.

As a nurse, I can understand the fact that men and women are born with a completely different anatomical build. There are several lab values and tests that are different regarding sex, and in the hospital many tests have to be run in accordance to the gender one was born with. It is unfair for transgender atheletes to use this difference to their advantage in an unfair way to manipulate the sports world. I am not against transgender individuals and believe that you can be whatever you want to be, but it shouldn’t be used in cases that make the playing field or life unfair, because that starts to effect others lives and no longer becomes just a you thing.

"In my opinion, the current debate about transgender athletes doesn't necessarily reflect deeper societal values around fairness and equality. Instead, I believe it highlights specific concerns and misunderstandings about competitive balance and the integrity of sports. The focus should be on creating inclusive policies that respect both the rights of transgender athletes and the principles of fair competition."
