U.S. President Joe Biden's administration is engaged in urgent discussions with Congress to allow it to use up $6 billion in military aid for Ukraine before a Sept. 30 deadline, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.
The effort comes at a high-risk moment for Ukrainian forces, who are advancing into Russia's Kursk region while trying to hold off Russian forces threatening the eastern Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk.
The Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), a key component of a $61 billion aid package for Ukraine passed in April, allows the president to transfer defense articles and services from U.S. stocks in response to emergencies.

Don't worry, Social Security is still projected to run out of money within the next decade and Medicare and VA benefits are facing huge budget shortfalls. Oh, and we can't afford to put metal detectors in public schools to keep your kids safe.

SS says that they predict the funds won't be FULLY available starting 1n 2034. At most the potential cuts will be 25% unless congress gets off it's duff and does a fix to the system. Two things can avert the issue with one being collecting the 15% on ALL income and the other is raising the age benefits are available. Both would really help go a long way to fix the system. Money is still pouring into the system but not enough to fix the long standing problems.
A $3 billion dollar accounting error, and not one person was fired or reprimanded for the mistake.
They need to pass a law cutting defense spending and defense employees pensions and salaries 3% a year until they can pass an audit

Why are we even calling it the Biden administration? The guy's been parked on a beach or Camp David for something like a year of his term, and now he's practically clocked out.
